August's POV

Looking around for the SHIELD agents was always scary. They attack subtly, and they're trained. But I'm trained too. When I realize they've probably left as I've been hiding for a good hour (better safe than sorry), I move back through the wall of the alley. Yes, a wall. When you have a friend trained in mystic arts, they can create a layer out of nothing. Including a back alley way wall!

I plop onto the purple bean bag chair, and let's just skip the look of this place for another time. Imma text Bullet Saver again. It's only been a day!

I take a deep breath for a second. I've been owned, I hated it. But if I were a dog with a good owner, I'd be given food daily without having to steal. I'd be loved unconditionally. I'd have somewhere to stay safe in every day and every night. I wouldn't have to run to find one of my safe houses before someone catches me. I want to be a dog.
