I stayed in the infirmary for four days. The first day, I was on so much pain medication that I could hardly keep my eyes open. Nova told me that she was able to stitch up most the wounds.

"The deepest cuts were on your back, so they'll scar but you'll be alright."

I didn't see Liam for those three days. But I also didn't miss the fact that someone would open my door late at night, filling my room with a familiar, musky cologne.

"Rise and shine." Nova said as she ripped open the curtains in the infirmary. I winced slightly, blinking away the blinding light that flooded the room.

"It's discharge day!" Nova sang with an unamused tone as she looked down at a clipboard.

"Finally." I mumbled as I slowly sat up. Sitting in this damn room for so long has been making me feel restless.

"Alright, you're good to go." I told Liam and James that you need to take it easy, or else the stiches will tear, and I'll have to redo them." Nova said. "And if I have to redo my work I'm gonna bitch and complain about it so don't make me do it." She said with a small, yet threatening smile. There was something about her tone that made me feel uneasy.

"Sounds good. Thanks, Nova." I said as I stood up. She gave me a small smile as I walked out of the infirmary. My chest and back were still wrapped up, but overall I felt much better than I did four days ago. I've sustained injuries throughout my career, but Nadia certainly did a number on me.

I continued down the hallways, cursing the Knights for having such a large estate before I finally reached my room.

"There you are." A deep voice said from behind me as I gripped the handle of my door.

I looked over my shoulder to see Liam walking towards me

"We're late." Liam said as he narrowed his eyes.

"For what?" I asked before opening the door and walking inside my bedroom.

"Micah's charity event?" Liam said as he looked at me with a raised brow.

"Charity event?" I said.

"Yes." Liam said with his eyebrow raised and annoyance in his voice.

"I thought Nova told you that I needed to take it easy." I said as I glared at him. I crossed my arms, feeling the folding Manila envelope that was tucked into my waistband. I've been so exhausted the past few days I haven't even had a chance to open it.

"Yes, and there's nothing easier than escorting me to a charity event. Besides, I'm fairly certain that no one there will try and kill me there. Now hurry up get ready, I don't have all day and we're already behind schedule." Liam said as he walked over to the decorative chair in the corner and took a seat. He pulled out his phone and began typing away as if I wasn't there.

"Please, make yourself at home." I mumbled under my breath as I began walking towards the bathroom.

"This is my home." He said as he looked up at me for a moment, a blank stare on his face. Normally, I would get this asshole out of my room at all costs, even the cost of his own life. But I was too tired to deal with his bullshit.

I silently mocked him as I walked into the bathroom and locked the double doors. I started the shower before I quickly removed the Manila envelope from the waistband of my sweatpants. I walked into the closet, and opened a drawer in the corner and hid the envelope under a stack of shirts.

I quickly showered, careful not to wet my back and ruin the stitches and did all the things I needed to do to get ready for the day. I put on my usual, casual attire before I walked out of the bathroom to see him still in the same spot as before, staring intently at his phone while completely ignoring my presence. I let out a small sigh before I began walking towards the door.
