"You're supposed to be dead." I said.

"You almost had me, but not quite." He said in a low tone.

"Where's Monroe?" I said quickly, the adrenaline sobering me up quickly.

"He and I are... spending some quality time together." Kenji said. After a moment I heard Monroe scream in pain behind him.

"Fuck." I breathed as I ran a hand through my hair.

"It's a good thing Leah got into your computer before you killed her." Kenji began as I swung open the door to my room, I grit my teeth as I heard Monroe screaming in pain once more. "She was able to see some documents this idiot sent you, something about Nadia Bales." He said.

"I told them... I told them time and time again that we can't trust him. That he was just too close to you and your sister, that his judgement was compromised. But no. No one wanted to listen to me. Now look where we are. I could have saved everyone months of trying to find you." Kenji said.

"But I suppose it worked out for me. You're worth more than your sister was." Kenji said, making fury flow through my body.

"Is that all you have, you fuck?" I heard Monroe yell in the background, but it was quickly followed by another grunt of pain.

"I did suggest that we go to your little boyfriends house tonight and shoot up the entire place. But you know... politics." He said in a nonchalant and annoyed tone. "Turns out there are some of our clients that really adore those Knights, although, I have no idea why."

My breathing was shallow, and I felt as though the room was spinning. Monroe's been compromised, and who knows for how long. The fact that he's still alive is a miracle. Corporate never took kindly to people betraying them, and I could only imagine the things that they were doing to him.

"I will find you. And when I do, you'll wish you died back in that restaurant." I said, my voice darker and colder than ever before.

"Oh, Mila, Mila, Mila. Who said I was hiding? What kind of coward do you think I am? I'll happily tell you where I am, and we can settle this once and for all." Kenji said. I pursed my lips as I heard Monroes heavy breathing behind him.

"784 Via de Venturi. There will be a car waiting for you in exactly one hour. If you don't show, I'll kill Monroe." He said, his tone calm and deadly.

"And don't even think about bringing any of Jame's men. They'll all die, and you know it. So let's just make this easier for both of us, and come alone. If anyone comes with you, I will put a bullet straight through his skull." Kenji said, yet another grunt from Monroe filling the silence.

"See you soon, Mila." Kenji said, and my skin crawled as I heard the anticipation in his voice before the line disconnected.

I nearly ran into the house, my heart racing as I made my way over to my room. I turned the corner and ran into Nova, who dropped her glass on the floor, shattering it before looking up at me with wide eyes.

"The fuck, Mila." She said, but I quickly pushed past her.

"Mila!" She yelled after me, but I ignored her. I quickly got to my room and swung open the door, Nova following quickly behind me. She gently closed the door behind her as I quickly ran into my closet.

"What's happening?" She said, but I stayed silent. I nearly ripped off my dress before changing into a more mobile outfit. I threw on a pair of pants, and a simple black long sleeve shirt. Nova walked into the closet after I was done changing, watching as I began strapping knives to my thighs.

"Listen, okay- I know that this engagement must be hard for you, but if you're going to kill them, and not invite me- that's just fucked up." She said, her brows furrowed and her eyes swimming with hurt. I said nothing as I continued to grab different kinds of gun from the display case in the center of the room.
