Walter's POV

It's my first day at Camp Half-Blood, and I found out I'm the son of Athena, which is no surprise when you see my bag. It's filled with architecture. I as shown around by my sister (I guess), Annabeth.

Once we got to our cabin, I was immediately in love with it. Books everywhere, plans, designs, spreadsheets. It was truly a nerd's dream come true.

Later that night, I was given an owl t-shirt and shorts to sleep in. As I was almost settled in my bunk, I heard a high pitched scream from the bathroom.

Malcolm, the second-in-command, went first to investigate.

"Annabeth? You okay in there?" He asked as he knocked on the door.

"N-no I-I'm not. Th-there's a s-s-spider on the mirror," Annabeth sputtered out through the bathroom door.

Malcom opened the door to find Annabeth curled up in the corner not moving staring at the mirror pointing at the spider.

Following her finger, Malcom saw the spider and ran to the door to the cabin and flung it open, racing for some help.

Slowly, all of us Athena kids carpet closer and closer to the bathroom, trying to help Annabeth, but still live.

Aaron, one of the younger of us, tried shooting a Nerf gun at the spider, but failed.

A few minutes later, Malcom came back followed by a muscular guy with crazy raven black hair and sea green eyes who looked like he just rolled out of bed.

"So it's just a spider?" He asked.

Malcom laughed, "Just?! Just a spi- are you crazy?! Percy, spiders are terrifying!"

"Yeah, I know, but where's my Wise Girl?" Percy asked.

Malcom pointed to the bathroom where we had put caution tape across the door.

Percy walked toward the door and grabbed the spider. All of the Athena kids screamed and ran to the wall farthest from him as he tossed the spider out the window and closed it.

"Better?" Percy questioned as he looked at us. We nodded.

Percy went towards Annabeth who was still frozen. He picked her up. I hadn't noticed that she was shaking. I also didn't notice the tears that streaked Annabeth's face.

"It's okay Wise Girl," Percy said softly to her.

"It was like in Tartarus. With- with Arachne and-" Annabeth cried. Some of the younger Athena kids went to bed, but most of his gathered outside the bathroom door.

"Shh... I know but it's gone now," Percy whispered.

"It seemed so real though. I could hear her voice and I-," Annabeth sobbed into Percy's shoulder.

Percy looked at me and told me, "Can you get her a glass of water?" I nodded and retrieve a water bottle. I handed it to Annabeth.

"Th-thanks Walter," She stammered as she drank the water.

Percy sat there for a few minutes on the floor, holding Annabeth until she fell asleep and eventually got up and carried her to her bunk.

And that was how I met Percabeth.
