~Esmerald
Hello! I'm Esmerald and I'll be your interviewer today! How are you doing? Would you mind sharing a bit about yourself?
Hello! I'm Agusta! It's nice to meet you! I'm doing great! I'm a writer on Wattpad and a teen who's going through high school! So far, I have written three stories and I love spending time with my pets, family and friends!
Nice to meet you, Agusta! I saw you're writing a story called "Madras to Miami." The characters' names, "Rinku" and "Yippie" are very interesting and unique! How'd you come up with those names?
Thank you for the compliment! The reason for choosing the title came through a dream when I was in 9th grade. And I just Randomly had another dream in which I somehow got the name 'Rinku' so that I'd be more Desi. And for yippie, i was reading this book called *guinea pig* where the MC would scream Yippie repeatedly. I just liked the name and I was like what if my other character's name was Yippie. And that's it, I started writing them!
Woah, that's so cool! In the blurb, it said Yippie is going through a dark past. Would you mind sharing a bit of what happened to her in the past?
Yes, of course, the mega reveal is gonna be there in the upcoming chapters. But, it's gonna be about Yip's dad and how and where he ended up after Yippie's birth. (I'm writing on it and it's totally fun).
It sounds very interesting! In your opinion, what do you think plays the biggest role when it comes to developing characters for stories?
In my opinion, bringing the character's true self and introducing them to the readers effectively plays a vital role in developing them.
Ah, yes! I develop characters based on my own personality and some of my experiences. How do you develop your characters?
For The main character Rinku, I could say she's me. Cause she's more enthusiastic, funny and she's loyal to her friends and family who's ready to discover and win the world! For Yippie, she's dedicated, adventurous and craving a family which she always dreamed of. Their charectors reflect my thoughts and I've been there to places where the children need or wish to have a family. I think Yip would reflect their thoughts and have her dream life!
Fascinating! When it comes to developing books, what do you believe is the most important part of a good plot?
A good plot requires, introduction of the cast effectively in the beginning, rising of events or crisis at accurate time, character's availability when that particular scene occurs, having a major turning point, a good climax and having the end, where everything ties up together without letting out anything.
Yes, I agree with all of that! When it comes to developing plots, I struggle with making them flow the right way and the descriptions. Do you struggle with anything specific when it comes to plot development? If so, what is it?
I will use my rough work for writing a plot. I'll scribble some thoughts while listening to music. That would be my plot for the story. So, I will go according to my scribbles. In short, I'm going on with the flow so I did not struggle with developing plot!
