Shikamarus pov
I walked hand in gloved hand with neji, my mate. I always thought he looked like a snow angel but now that I see him in the snow, smiling like an excited child. Hmm he looks like a real angel in the flesh but right now I have to stop my angel from freezing to death!
I opened the door and he happily strolled inside. I picked up the hot chocolate I had made earlier and handed him a cup which he gratefully took.
"I guess you had this all planned out" he smirked at me.
"Always do" I winked at him before making my way to the living room "come to the living room neji. I'll light a fire"
"Sounds good" he happily followed me to the living room.
I bent down by the fireplace as I messed with my firelighter that I used for smoking (neji doesn't know of course!) Neji grabbed a nearby blanket and wrapped himself in it.
"Are we doing anything for Christmas?" He asked.
"I'd rather not do anything" I said, my eyes glued to the lighter "but ino wants a Christmas party. She's always had a thing for the theatrics"
"I'm not really a fan of big parties but I think you should do it" he smiled.
"Now why would you suggest something like that" I sighed. Normally nejis on my side!
"Cause if you refuse ino will get angry, she'll suggest something even bigger just to spite you and thus the veinous cycle continues"
"You make a good point" sparks flew from my lighter, finally lighting the fire.
"Ohh cosy" he held his freezing hands towards the fire.
I let out a deep sigh "I guess I can sacrifice a night of peace in return for a month of ino free drama"
"I'm a genius I know!" He laid his head on my shoulder.
"And you'll never hear me admit it again" I pinched his nose playfully.
We sat by the fire enjoying each other's warmth and company.
