Galactic Overlord ( A Star Wars self insert story)

Beginning

I was born on the 14th day of the 9th month of what would eventually be 25 BBY on the planet of Akkadia (1) in the mid-outer rim regions of the galaxy. My father, named Andronicus Covraii was an engineer in a medium sized town on Akkadia and my mother's name was Junia. My father was one of the leaders of the town and a highly trusted one among them. The richest among our relatives was my father's sister, my aunt named Dainah Covraii. She lived in the capital city of Akkad and was one of the most powerful elites of this poor planet.

Why my father didn't decide to live in Akkad was that he did not like the polluted air and dirty streets of the capital city Akkad and the political and military life his sister was involved in. He much preferred the life of a simple farmer, living happily in the farmlands with a loving family. I have no problem with that though I considered it a waste of his talents as he was an expert engineer.

My name is Salazar Covraii and in case you haven't guessed from my birth date, I was born just 3 years before the Clone Wars. Really a great time to be born wouldn't you say?

My planet sided with the Republic though it had interests more aligned with the Confederacy of Independant Systems. The main reason it sided with the Republic against it's own interests was that the Republic had occupied the planet already and the ruling elites chose to side with the Republic. When the war ended in 19 BBY, the Republic was replaced by the new Galactic Empire and this is where my story begins.

Current year: 15 BBY

I finished school and was running back home. Today was a special day since aunt Dainah was visiting. Wasn't everyday someone from the capital city was visiting. I ran hurriedly past the market area and closer to my home. ''Salazar! Wait!''

I turned my head back to see two of my friends, Inanna Lucens and Kannon. ''You forgot your books!'' shouted my best friend Kannon and I checked my bag and found, to my embarrasement that it was true.

''Oops. My bad.'' I said and walked towards them to get my books. Kannon was a big boy with a plump face while Inanna was a green haired girl with a kind heart. ''Sorry about that. Thanks Kannon.''

''Honestly Salazar, why are you in such a hurry?'' asked Inanna.

''My aunt is visiting today.'' I replied and my two friends gasped. In our poor planet, especially this far away from the only source of industry, i.e Akkad, it wasn't everyday we get visitors.

''The one from Akkad?'' Kannon asked and I nodded.

''Yeah. Thanks for bringing my books for me, Kannon, Inanna. I'll see you tomorrow.'' I said and ran quickly back home.

I quickly opened the door to my home, put my bag down and ran straight into the sitting room. ''Honey, is that you?'' rang my mother's voice from inside the kitchen, clearly busy making dinner.

''Yes mom.'' I replied back. ''Is dad home?'' I asked.

''Yes. He's with your aunt in the bedroom.'' mom replied back and I quickly ran to meet them.

In the bedroom, my father was having an important discussion with my aunt regarding my future. My aunt wanted to send me to an imperial academy so that I might have a successful career in the newly made empire while my father, who didn't like the empire very much, was rather skeptical.

''Think about it, Andronicus. It would bring great honor and prestige to our family if my nephew could join the empire. He has such potential and I believe he can make all of us proud.'' spoke my aunt to my father.

''Salazar's future is for him to decide and him alone, sister. Besides, he's only 10 years old and can't join the academy yet. What will we do about his fees?'' asked my father.
