tw-panic attack, homophobiafor the last ten minutes, jisung had been pacing his living room while his phone sat untouched on the coffee table.
he'd been mumbling to himself as he was almost in a war between his head and his heart at the idea of calling his mother.
four years ago, jisung had met lee minho. a man he'd immediately deemed someone he wanted to spend the rest of his life with.
and, 3 months ago, minho had fulfilled his wish as he had proposed in the most unforgettable way.
on the day of, he'd taken jisung on a little journey of all the places he associated their relationship with.
the park they first met at, the beach they'd had their first kiss, a lovely dinner out at their favourite restaurant, to then end at their apartment where minho had set up a pillow fort between the couch and the floor.
after watching jisung's favourite film, howl's moving castle, minho had taken his then boyfriend outside to show him another set up of fairy lights and rose petals.
jisung tried his best to hold his tears through minho's heartwarming speech and, as soon as the question had been asked, he jumped into minho's arms as he fervently nodded his head.
they'd shared a sweet kiss before holding each other until the slight breeze was no longer as comforting as the warmth of their beds.
that night, they'd been cuddled up and refused to keep their hands or bodies too far apart from the other.
by now, jisung and minho had told all of their friends and family the news with everyone being over the moon for the pair.
however, jisung was yet to break the news to his mother and was terrified for her response.
when jisung's father had confessed to his wife that he'd fallen in love with a man, therefore leaving her as he felt he was holding her back from experiencing the love he said she deserved, she had become outspokenly homophobic.
she had immediately shamed jisung's father, hurling verbal abuse at him until he moved out and continued through messaging and phone calls that would usually lead to horrible voicemails she hoped the man would hear.
jisung was only 19 at the time.
at first he was sure he was straight, and had just not yet met a girl who he wanted to date.
however, when his father had told him that he had been finding himself looking at a man through romantic interest instead of to compare himself, jisung had noticed a similar pattern.
and, when jisung allowed himself to try and look at a boy the same way he thought he should girls, he instantly found it took almost no effort at all in comparison.
so, he'd began dating boys and had found himself feeling so elated that he was no longer confused as to why he hadn't felt anything with girls.
three years later, he'd met minho and so, he's brought to today- this moment.
"come on, jisung." he mumbled to himself, his thumb and finger resting at his bottom lip. "you can't not tell her."
jisung, although having witnessed his mother's attitude towards gay people, couldn't bring himself to keep something like this from her.
"right, that's it." he huffed to himself, coming to a stop from his nervous pacing as he let out a deep sigh to compose himself.
as he slowly turned his head to his phone, jisung felt a wave of anxiety shoot through his body.
