(I started writing this like 2 days ago during my flight, and I'm just now finishing the damn edits. I also read a Brams Heelshire fanfic before this so....I apologize if I made König seem a bit....weird. Anywho, enjoyyyy!!!!)

SETTING: KÖNIG'S CELL

He held me on that cold cement floor as I sobbed, trying his hardest to keep his own composure. Through my cries, I couldn't hear anything that was happening behind me, but occasionally I'd feel König tilt his head to look up at something. Whatever it was, he didn't seem to like it. As every time I felt his head shift upwards he'd squeeze me tighter and pull me into him more. Sure, it hurt a bit, but I could honestly care less. It was only when I heard that familiar, gruff-sounding, Manchester accent did my cries finally stop completely.

"So this is the reason why you were so insistent on coming back here, eh?" He said, sounding so near, yet so far away at the same time. I almost convinced myself that he wasn't down here, and that he stayed with Laswell and the other captains, but he squashed that idea when he spoke again.  "Yeah Belle? This what you came back for? Your fuck buddy?" He spat. "I knew somethin' was up with you two. Fuckin ridiculous. You should be ashamed of yourself." He continued, before I heard the sound of him turning on his heels and walking away.

I didn't even bother to try and argue with him as I was too heartbroken at König's physical state to do so. Instead, I sniffled and let go of König, hastily wiping away my tears and snot. As I tried to sit up, König ended up pulling me back down to him, wrapping his arms even tighter around me. "König-" I started, before he cut me off. "No. Stay." He said in a rather shaky, but demanding voice. He sounded as if he was really on the verge of crying right then and there. Sighing, I had to try and compose myself so that I wouldn't burst out into tears myself.

I tapped his hand to get him to loosen his grip a bit, and positioned myself to where I was looking at him completely. "König, I have to go and talk to the captains. As of now, they aren't......really sure what to do with you." I said, maintaining his insistent eye contact. His eyes darted to the side for a split second before focusing back on me. "Don't....don't leave me. Please, just stay." He nearly cried out, burying his head back into my neck. Shocked at his sudden clingyness, I crooked my arm back, and slid a hand into the gaping hole of his mask.

His body reacted with a violent shiver, before he ultimately leaned into my touch. I snaked my hand all the way up to his hair, and began gently massaging his scalp. I had no other ideas on how to comfort or maybe convince him to let me go, so I sat there idly with him clinging onto me like I was his lifeline. "I'll be right outside the cell. I would never leave you behind König." I said, keeping a soft tone and trying my hardest to reassure him. He hummed in acknowledgment but still refused to let me go.

I let out a sigh as I reminded myself that I had to be patient with him, the same way he was for me. It made sense that he was acting the way he was. The poor man had been put underground, and administered drugs for a week and a half. "Can you let me go now?" I asked softly, to which I got no answer; at least not immediately. After a few minutes he finally spoke up, "Promise?" He mumbled into my chest. "Promise what?" I asked, totally confused on what he was hinting at. "Promise you won't leave me." He said, his voice veering from it's usual high pitch.

"I can't promise that they won't separate us, but what I will promise is that I would never leave you without saying goodbye. Does that sound ok?" I asked, knowing damn well he wasn't going to like my answer either way. But when he released his devil-like hold on me and sat up to look me clear in my eyes, I had to admit I was more than shocked. "I believe you." He said, and for a spilt second I could have sworn I saw a flash of him smiling through his mask.
