Chapter 42: Me, Her and The Moon(calves)

"As long as I'm with you,
I got a smile on my face."

Fifth Year

Sebastian Sallow sat restlessly on that library table. His fingers repeatedly flicked his quill back and forth, doing everything but writing.

"Mister Sallow," The scrawny voice of the librarian, Agnes Scribner, flamed the setting. "I have all day. I do not mind staying until you are done." She looked at him from her glasses, eyeing the annoyingly stubborn fifth-year student.

Sebastian didn't stop playing with his quill. He side-eyed the librarian, growing a faint smile on his face, not having any care for his consequences, and gave her a shrug.

"It's alright, Scribner," He leaned back on his chair, yawning. "-from all the detentions I've gotten, you must've given up at some point."

"Do not test my limits, young boy! This is not a pleasant game to be playing—"

The library's door opened with a squeak that morning, making both heads turn from the noise. It was rare, considering most students couldn't enter at these times.

Hogwarts Deputy, Matilda Weasley, shuffled in with a quiet step, almost careful as she skimmed her head and kept her eyes on the troubled Slytherin boy sitting on the wooden table afar.

"Pardon the interruption, Madam Scribner," Professor Weasley excused, bowing at the librarian, but still looking over at Sebastian Sallow.

"No worries, Deputy." Agnes let out, forcing all her might to smile at her, despite the reckless student in the library with her,

Matilda Weasley nodded, "I believe you might have to excuse Mister Sallow here for today," she lifted a finger to point at him. "He's in need of a task that should not be ignored."

Sebastian stopped flicking his wand, the noise of it going silent as he lifted his posture from the call and held his smile again knowing he's been excused from detention.

The librarian didn't buy it at first. Sebastian Sallow was a tricky student. He was always successful in excusing himself out of detention one way or another. She hated it.

"Mister Sallow tends to enchant his way out of detention, Deputy." She told her.

Sebastian rolled her eyes.

"Indeed, I am aware," Weasley nodded. "But this is a mandatory assignment, Madam. I can assure you."

"Assignment?" Sebastian said to himself, almost confused about what excuse was so good he needed to leave this time. He didn't plan this one.
