Damian was disliking the Gala more and more with every minute. But regardless he still smiled, waved, tryed his best to get rid of the 'accent', greeted, shook hands, made small talk, and danced with the other peoples daughters who were around his age.

He was unsettled slightly by the fathers of those daughters and Bruce for 'poking fun' by 'joking' about his and so-and-so's future wedding. Damian actually whispered to Bruce and asked him if he was serious because arraged marrages were common from the areas he mostly lived in. Bruce reasured him thankfully.

The Gala was held at Gothams most prised locations among the wealth: the Gotham Ballroom Hall. It was a magnificent building with a ginormous ballroom at the top of a skyscraper that was also dedicated as a art museum below. The roof was reinforced stained glass that lit up with its gold chandeliers and candle light. It was beautiful but Damians mind couldn't admire it at all.

he noticed how much the adults kept calling him 'the prince of Gotham" fondly and thought it strange. But they soon cleared themselves up as they mentioned how Bruce was nicknamed 'the king of Gotham' to the point everyone just labeled it official as a society. It was odd and Damian didn't know how to take the information and just smiled and waved.

Grayson, Jason, Tim, Alfred, and Cassandra were also there but they mainly mingled separately. So Damian followed their lead uneasily and avoided them as they were avoiding him and each other apparently.

Damian went to one of the food tables for a glass of water when a old, short, and heavy set man with a pointy nose came up to him. He wore a monical and a top hat with his tux and carried a umbrella with his gloved hands.

"So you're Bruces kid, huh? You do look quite like him boyo." The man stated with a smile. He had no lips whatsoever and had about 4 gold teeth from what Damian could tell.

"That's correct. Damian Wayne, and you are..?" Damian outstretched his hand for a handshake. The man grabbed his arm firmly and shook it excessively. Damian was surprised at his strength.

"Mr. Penguinquenie, but you can call me Mr. Penguin." The old man smiled and continued to shake his hand for far too long. Damian finally managed to get his hand free and continued being etiquette dispite being highly uncomfortable with this man.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr Penguin. Are you colleagues with my Father?" Damian asked.

"Oh no, I'm head of my own company simulator to your fathers. I-"

"I'm so sorry to interupt." Grayson apologized as he suddenly appeared behind Damian and shook hands with Mr. Penguin. "It is so good to see you Mr Penguin. Round as usual i see."

"Ah, Mr Grayson. Wish i could say the same for you." Mr Penguin snarled.

"I'm afraid i have to steal my brother from you is that alright?" Grayson stated.

"Be my guest. Though i must say, it was a absolute pleasure... to meet you Young Wayne." Mr Penguin said menacingly but smiled as Grayson pulled Damian away and into the crowd.

"Don't speak to him ever again Damian." Grayson ordered quietly.

"Why?" Damian asked.

"He's a pedophile the cops ignore. Trust me, personal experience."

"Ew. To much detail." Damian complained.

"You do have a sense of humor!"

Grayson pulled him over to where Bruce and Selina were and passed Damian off to Selina. Selina didn't hold his hand but did hold him close by his shoulder as she wrapped her arm around him. Damian objected silently but was relieved it was that and not the hand holding. He only ever did that with his own mother and her only. Grayson whispered something to Bruce then left after Bruce nodded.
