                                *********

Today only anger ran through Onika's veins. She was mad, no devastated. This morning while Onika was getting ready for work she got a call from her job saying they will no longer be needing her services. Onika confused asked why, what and how. She did her job great and she loved her job, the tips she earned while working were getting to her head.
Too many things were happening to her. She felt like her life was slowly slipping out her hands. Onika really concentrated and thought why was this all happening.

Matías was all she thought.

Something told her he had done this, he was taking away her freedom.
Onika thought the morning Matías brought her home to her grandmother was the last morning she would see him but again she thought wrong.

She should've remembered the talk they had about her taking away what is "his".

"Onika I will not make you give me what is mine right now, but in due time I'll just take it."
Onika recited the psychotic man's words in her head. She thought he was only talking about her body even though that didn't make it any better, she realized he was talking about her life too.
He was taking her life away as well and She couldn't just stand and watch.

Soon enough Onika stopped thinking and decided to be more on acting.
She quickly grabbed her purse and all her personal identification and headed to the police station.

*****

Onika sat in Detective Bryan's office answering all of his questions. She gave most of what she could on Matías even though she didn't know too much.
Detective Bryan wrote down all of what he listened to and told Onika that the man was gonna face a good time for all that he had put Onika through but before she left there was one more thing he needed.

"Ok ma'am and finally what is the name of this man?" The detective asked as he looked at Onika.

"Matías Diamond." The detective's face immediately lost color after hearing the name.

"I-I'm sorry ma'am, uhh I was mistaken we can no longer help you." The detective started to pack up his things and threw out the paperwork he had written down on.

"Wait, what do you mean you cannot help?" Onika asked, confused. "You're the police, who else is gonna help me?"

"God." The detective simply said. "If I were you I would fake my death but in your case I don't even think that would work ma'am."

Onika sat dumbfounded at what the detective said, this is the police station and they are even scared of the man. It didn't make sense to Onika how powerful Matías actually was, it made her start questioning reality.

"I'll pray for you." Onika rolled her eyes at the detective as he left her in his office. She was the one that was supposed to leave but she guessed the man took it upon himself to distance himself from her.

Onika put her face in her palms. Too much was happening to her in a short period of time. Too much stress on her. She never thought there would be a time in her life where she cried so much. Onika truly felt exhausted from something other than bills.
She took a deep breath in, trying to hold in her cries but immediately failed when she breathed out. All you could hear were her sobs in the office.
Onika pulled herself somewhat back together and decided she was going to sleep on everything once she got home, it seemed like that was the only thing she could do to escape reality.

*****

Onika arrived home to a surprise. She quickly made eye contact with the big bouquet of lovely dark roses on her doorstep. Under the roses was a big black box and another box on top but smaller. She opened the smaller box first and gasped.
