Chapter 27: A Day out

Arthur Leywin POV

I was dressing up so I could take Sylvie and Ellie out to buy them some clothes with the money I saved up from adventuring. The day was perfect for going out, with the sun high up in the sky and not even a single cloud to obstruct our vision of the bright blue celestial sea

" Papa, I am ready" Sylvie said excitedly after jumping in front of me, wearing only her usual black dress that she made from her scales

I looked at Sylvie and patted her head, which made her let out a happy hum " Then, let's go"

We left the room and headed for the entrance door where I could sense mom, dad, and Ellie waiting for us. Mom and dad won't be coming with us because ever since they told me about their regression, which was about two weeks ago, they started working on improving themselves. Dad has started working out more in his free time, which I supported by giving him some cores I got in the beast glades and a book about fire, lightning, and earth magic, while mom found a job in the hospital of Xyrus. I couldn't help her with her deviant so I did whatever I could to support her- I gave her some cores to help her breakthrough into orange core and gave her a handmade book about medical knowledge from my old world

" Brother!" Ellie shouted and came to hug me. My little sister was wearing a white dress with a floral design and cute white shoes. Her hair was tied in her usual twin tails

" Are you ready, Ellie?" I asked with a soft smile

" Yeah!" she shouted enthusiastically

" Then, let's go!"

After saying goodbye to our parents I left the house with Ellie on my shoulders and Sylvie in my arms

While walking through the busy streets of Xyrus with two little girls glued on me, I got some weird and questioning looks from the people around me, but I didn't pay it any attention. No matter how they look at me now, it's no match for the way people looked at me back when I was a Lance while I walked with a nine years old girl, Sylvie, glued to me

" Papa, where are we going?" Sylvia asked with a tilted head

" Yeah, shuping district is over there" Ellie said while pointing at the other side of the street

With a devious smirk on my face and my thoughts completely cut off from Sylvie, I said "I won't tell you because it's a surprise" and started walking toward my destination, the teleportation gate of Xyrus

It didn't take us long to reach the place, but once we did we were met with an unexpectedly large crowd of people. Not only people that are waiting to leave but there are also people waiting for someone coming from the other side

" A gate from the beast glades is opening!" shouted the guard whose duty is to check the destination of the upcoming travelers

At this, I turned my head toward the gate, carefully watching the people coming through. After sensing the aether in the atmosphere moving around and opening a temporary hole in the space of this world, a beautiful portal shimmered to life

The first was a group of bulky adventures and a single mage that I was able to recognize, the former student of Xyrus and my teammate back when we fought Elderwood Guardian, Samantha. After them, numerous merchants, mercenaries, and adventurers passed through

After almost losing hope, I saw a beauty that rivaled even the most beautiful women of Ephoteus pass through the portal. Her bleach-green hair danced in the wind while her arctic blue eyes shone like diamonds. The most notable feature of this otherworldly beauty was her pointy ears, proof of her Elven origins
