Kiku (An Akame Ga Kill Fanfic)

Fight

I run, wiping tears as I go. My foot catches a tree root, and I hit the ground, spinning to a stop. I sit up and stare at the ground as I wipe away a bit of blood off my cheek. I slowly slide to my feet and take a step, but stop. I lift my head.

I turn and see Incursio charging towards me. Closer...closer...now! I flip over him and in off. I'm almost free when I slide to a stop. Any further and I would've fallen off the cliff.

I turn. Any and all emotions have left me. I spread my arms and lean backwards. My eyes close automatically and let myself fall. Life isn't worth living anymore.

My eyes shoot open as I stop falling. I look up and see Incursio, or rather Tatsumi, holding my hand. I do nothing as he pulls me up. "You shouldn't do that." I laugh.

"Why not? Another useless death?"

"No one needs to die without reason." I smile malevolently. "Shut up with that shit." Tatsumi has no time to react as I suddenly kick him away. Tatami hits the ground hard and I take my leave.

Jumping over rocks and logs, I keep going. I can't let anything or anyone stop me. My horse comes into view and I speed up. I nearly reach it but stop as I feel something trickle down my neck. Blood.

I look and sees special string shine as it shakes. I turn as I hear a boys laughter. Lubbock stands in front of me. We both stare on surprise and confusion. "Lubbock?"

"Kiku?" Suddenly I'm tackled down to the ground by Leone. I struggle as Leone gains an evil smile. Her hand goes up, before coming down, clawing my arm. Blood gathers and drips down as I nearly scream in pain.

I struggle harder, but it's no use. Leone shows no sign of letting me go. As if on time, a huge explosion happens, distracting Leone. I use this time to escape and kick Leone off of me and watch as she lands on Lubbock. Again I run, but this time I flip into a tree and hide as to let my wounds heal.

"Thora". My wounds close up immediately. I breathe deeply and fall to my knees. "Why is this so hard on me?"

"You haven't fought like this without taking breaks." Thora says, actually sounding somewhat concerned. I attempt to stand but become disoriented. My mind spins and I trip, sliding off the branch.

I'm caught by none other than Hiro, as I lose consciousness.
