Like lightning outside my window,
The rain splattering against the glass,
Wind controlling the trees
Slamming them into my room,
Glass breaking,
It hits me,
The negative thoughts
All of them singing in my head,
They always said: Beware the Boogeyman
What if he's me?
What if I'm the bad,
The one who haunts my dreams,
Makes me scream,
Cry,
Begging for it to stop,
What if it's me,
Who chokes down the pills,
Laughing at my scared face
Dragging the blade across it,
Yelling, Monster!
A monster, no one should see,
What if the bad man holding a gun to my head is me.
