Like ashes falling from a burned out flame
Melted away by the morning splashes of rain
A sea of monsters stealing the light
I watch: Freezing in the cold
My love for you getting swallowed up,
The Fire, long since burnt out
The wood, dried up,
I no longer need this match I hold,
I offer it to the monster
In place of my heart.
