8. Team Edward

Just like I thought I had a horrible hangover I tried drinking water and coffee all day but nothing helped at this point I was almost finished with my shift I saw Gracie was still sitting at her table in the corner I go to clean her table but I get stopped by Gracie "wait no let me clean it" I stop and stare at her
"No this is my job I have to" We both laugh a bit  "Yeah but you look absolutely over this day so I'll clean up after all it is my mess" I shake my head
"No, I won't allow it you are my favorite customer plus like I said this is my job" I nervously laugh fuck why did I say that did it sound creepy
"favorite customer really" I was confused as to why she was still talking to me "Yeah you've always been so nice you brighten up everyone's day at the cafe" By everyone I mean me she smiles again at me and I go back to work.
After I clean her table I see it's ten minutes till closing I start shutting off everything I let her stay till the last minute cause why not, she's packing up all her stuff I go to the back and take off my apron and I thank god that this day is over I need my bed as I walk up to the door I look up and she's already there.

"I like your shirt by the way " I look down I just realized I was wearing a Twilight shirt I didn't even remember putting that on "thanks what team are you" this is my moment I try to create some conversation "Oh come on the only right one, team Edward" she laughs a little I can feel my heart flutter as I talk to her "thank god I was hoping you were team Edward otherwise I don't I think I could ever talk or get you coffee ever again" She laughs again every time I hear it it's like it gets better each time her laugh is perfect I should've expected nothing less "You're really funny you know that," I thought I just died and went to heaven "We should hang out together and not just see each other every time I get coffee" yup I died and I just went to gay heaven I gotta stay calm "you do come here a lot" I state "yeah I have a slight coffee addiction"
"so do I, your secret is safe with me" We just stare at each other for a couple of seconds  "And about hanging out I would love to" Her smile gets bigger and it makes me smile even more than I already was "Can I give you my number so we can plan a day to hang out" Who the fuck would say no to that "Yeah sure" I get my phone and give it to her "You sure you want to give your number out to a stranger though" She looks up for a second "I'll take my chances with you cute stranger" We walk out together I lock up the door and we stand outside "Okay see you soon?" I can see her biting her lip trying to hold back a smile
"See you soon Ivy"
I can't help but giggle a bit "'l'll keep you to that"
"Bye"
"Bye"
Even with a hangover, this has been one of the best days of my life.

I unlock the door and practically bust it down when I get in the apartment I see Rosie staring at me I could tell I had just about made her shit herself "What the fuck are you insane " I try to catch my breath since I ran to the apartment "Oh my God Rose you would never believe what just happened" She still looked scared but she patted the couch telling me to sit "Okay so I was closing today right Gracie was there like always but this time she was there till closing and we started talking she smiled all cutely her dimples the ga-" Rosie clears her throat "So anyway after talking a bit she said she wanted to hang out"
"No way shut up you lying"
"No I'm not lying and she asked for my number"
"shut up"
"oh my god I might hang out with Gracie Abrams" We both sit in silence for a minute trying to process it Rosie "I can't believe that I missed it" She frowns "I'm team #Gravy I'm the biggest shipper of you two"
"Ro you're the only shipper"
"That doesn't make it any less important" I slap her shoulders and mumble okay

she always wanted me and Gracie together she said we would this is literally quoting her "You guys would be the best little couple that everyone just wants to kill because you guys are so cute".
I just get up from the couch and start to walk to my room
"It's been a long day and I still have a slight headache I'm gonna hop in the shower and go to bed" she nods "Let me know when Gracie texts you" I'm standing at my door  "Oh I will trust me".

"Okay love you goodnight V"
"Goodnight Rose love you"

What a good day, how could life get any better.
but I didn't know just how good tomorrow would be
