begin again

34.New years day

Here i am getting into a taxi to go to Diana's new years eve party, it's currently 10pm Gracie and i agreed we would meet up at the party, after about 10 minutes the car finally stopped in front of the beautiful house I could hear the loud music from outside along with some shouting and singing I smiled slightly before walking into the house as soon as I get in there Diana was pouring wine in her glass. when she turned to me she threw her hands in the air and quickly walked over to me "Yay you're finally here Gracie is gonna be so excited" She grasped onto my hand pushing us through the semi-crowded living room after the stressful commute we finally reach Gracie "here she is" Diana says very loudly Gracie stops talking turns to me and smiles "I was just talking about you" my smile grows even bigger "you were?" she shrugs her shoulders looking proud "yeah i was" she's now getting up and putting her arm around my waist I pause and look at her with caution she looked at me reading my face "I came out to them it's okay" with that information I relax into her touch we go outside taking a walk i look around at the trees surrounding the house Gracie's gaze lingers "its so scary coming out" my eyes meet hers "why did you? if you don't mind me asking" our pinkies brush past each other every couple of seconds "I don't want us to be a secret, and I'm don't want to hide you, I told everyone who I truly trust the ones who mean the most to me" I nod in understanding "There's no pressure here, just know that you come out on your own terms" I see the gears in her head turn as she tries to form a sentence "I just- I like you so much I want the whole world to know but then it's also so fucking scary I can't-" she doesn't make eye contact I stop in my place "hey look Gracie it can just be the two of us I don't care if everyone knows or if they don't know, as long as I have you by my side I don't really care about anything else" she turns to me quickly catching me off guard by kissing me I smile against her lips
"thank you"
"anytime babe" she pecks my cheek then one more time on my lips before we finish our journey till we are back at the house.

now after many conversations with people whom I can now call acquaintances and the soothing touches coming from Gracie before I knew it we were counting down the seconds till the new year

5..4..3..2..1..

there it was that familiar feeling of Gracie's warm lips clashing against mine, her hands creeping up my neck she tasted of beer and her strawberry lip-gloss "Happy New Year Ivy" I take in the moment my fingers swipe across her rosy cheeks "Happy new year Gracie"

about an hour and 6 beers later (well for Gracie at least)
"Come on Gracie let's go you're really drunk" She was indeed very drunk clinging onto me all night not that I was complaining "I'm not that drunk and hey you drank too" I grab her as she stumbles around "I drank one beer when I first got here then drank water the rest of the time, let's get you home" now her arms are around my neck dragging behind me "don't want to go home. want to stay with you" I try to stifle my laugh "okay then if you want you can stay with me, It's probably for the best since you'll be throwing up a lot" she makes some type of disgusted sound "Yes I wanna stay with you I hate throwing up" she mumbles "I know you do, I'll do my best to help" I reassure her while helping her into the passenger seat "God wow you're so pretty Ivy I'm glad I talked to you when I did at that cafe" her finger traces my jawline, I turn to her, her eyes wide a doe like as they always are "I'm glad you did too" she smiles connects her phone to the aux and screams to love songs the whole way home

I lay on my bed inches from her and think to myself how this still doesn't feel real, I push away any negative thoughts that pop into my head, Gracie sits up

"can i wear some of your clothes?"

"of course pick whatever you want" She get's up going to my closet picking out sweats and a hoodie "This is my favorite hoodie that you own it's so comfy" She has worn it before I figured it was her favorite since she always asked to wear it "you can have it" she hugs me from behind "thank you for the hoodie and for everything earlier about my coming out, you taking care of me because I'm drunk as shit" I lean into her head that sits in the crevice of my neck "come on I would do anything for you Gracie you know this" her mouth slightly open "no I didn't know that but nice to know".

The rest of the night was full of lots of vomit lots of water and one random dance party in the kitchen.
