35. how you get the girl

I wake up because of the loud noise coming from the kitchen, I make my way out of my room to see Rosie dancing while going back and forth between frying bacon and flipping pancakes "what are you doing?" she takes off her headphones "Oh hey morning buddy, sleep good?" I could murder her I swear "no you woke me but with whatever the hell you got going on in here"

"I was being loud so you could wake up"

"I hate you so much" she walks over giving me a big hug "Happy new year best friend" hands me water and some Tylenol  "I'm also hungover as fuck so I decided I'll make us some pancakes and bacon" I nod slightly "I guess I don't hate you anymore" I decide to lay on the couch throwing a blanket over my face, it is wayy to bright in here for me "last night was fun huh?" I don't verbally respond I just make a hum/grunt type noise "You'll never guess who I kissed last night" and just like that she peeked at my interest, my head turned around so fast and my eyes shot open "Who" she laughs awkwardly "You can't tell anyone" Her face is growing redder by the second "I won't" She giggles then pauses "I kissed Olivia" I vaguely remember them being together all night but who would've thought "Wait like Olivia Rodr-" My jaw dropped due to my late reaction "Yes her" we sit in silence for at least a minute "I know you love kissing people but this is- oh my god, how are you being so casual about this? Ro you kissed one of your favorite artists and celeb crushes"        I ask in between laughs "I'm not. okay well I'm trying to be calm but I can't stop thinking about it, also foods done" I pull myself off the couch and over to the table "Are you going to tell me the details or are you gonna leave me high and dry here" we get more water which I very much still needed and she continues the story "it was a great kiss unexpected but great, we were sitting in the living room it got too crowded so we went outside to the pool barely anyone was out there then before I knew it, it was time for the ball to drop everyone stormed inside but we stayed by the pool, I was all jittery and nervous Ve it was so bad my hands were sweating" truth be told Rosie was very confident and flirty she was the girl who would be making out randomly at peoples party. she definitely wasn't much of a dating person, but anyway hearing that she kissed someone yesterday didn't shock me this wasn't new territory for her, but her being nervous now that was new "whats with us and being with famous singers?" she dazes off stuffing bacon in her mouth "I'm not with her" I can't say I've ever seen her this "Do you wish you were" She drops her food at my words "Well I do- I don't know, I think I've liked her for a while but I don't know if the whole thing was a mistake. I can't look stupid by saying I want to be with her, we kissed once and also what if she doesn't even remember" I lift my eyebrows knowing exactly what she's doing "So I take it you haven't talked to her since last night and your ghosting her?"

"no" I blankly stare at rosie then look at the time "rosie it is 4 in the afternoon, you should probably talk to her"

"I know-" she makes excuses every time she likes someone, she either denies that she likes them or just ignores the person completely so she may not be the healthiest person on the planet but hey she said she's working on it "If you know then go talk to her, no excuses Ro you genuinely like her don't run" she whines then gets out her phone "okay I just texted her if I could come over" I smiling taking a bite of pancakes "good" within the next minute her phone dings she whips her head over to me her face looks like she needs to shit I laugh at her and pick up her phone "she said 'yeah, of course, you can'" her head is now in her lap "oh god Ve I'm nervous" I go up to her and give her a quick hug for moral support

"you got this bitch, go get your girl"

"I'm about to romcom the shit out of this"

"yeah you are"

we high five then she practically runs out of the apartment
