The weekend can't come soon enough. Of course I would have a fight with Stiles on a Monday, when we still have four days of awkward side glances and pretending not to notice each other to go through. On the plus side, though, Isaac and I didn't get busted by Mr Rogers.
Speaking of Isaac, he's hung out with me everyday this week, not that I mind very much. He's sweet, intense and cocky, but not in a mean way like Jackson can often be. Isaac seems to want to laugh with me, not at me, which I appreciate. Still, every time we sit together at lunch or walk down the halls side by side Stiles seems obviously annoyed, making me feel guilty, even though I've done nothing wrong. It's not like Stiles has decided to break up with Malia, I tell myself, trying to push thoughts of what he said on Monday about liking me from my mind.
I'm currently sitting on a wooden chair at the local mall, waiting to meet up with Allison. We were going to see the latest zombie film, 'Flesh of the Dead,' or something like that. I wasn't one for horror films, in fact they completely terrified me, I hate gore! But it seemed like a fun idea to get to hang out with Allison, maybe she could give me some fashion advice, I think as I look down at my oversized t-shirt dress that I have worn for the third time this week.
Usually I would have called Allison five times by now, nervous about being alone in public, and would probably resort to pretending to text someone so I didn't look like I had no friends. But I didn't have to pretend today, as my phone vibrated in my hand.
ISAAC What are you up to?
LYDIA Just waiting for Allison at the mall. You wouldn't want to come, I think she wants to go dress shopping for the upcoming dance.
ISAAC No fair! I love dress shopping, pink is very much my colour :)
LYDIA Haha you're hilarious
"Hey Lydia." I look up to see Allison hovering over me, and blush as I realise how stupid I must look smirking at my phone. I stand up and begin to walk in the direction of the movie theatre, when she stops me. "Wait."
"What?" I look at Allison expectantly, noticing an apologetic and guilty look spread across her face slowly.
"I kind of invited someone else."
I sigh. "Great, so I'm going to be the third wheel to you and Scott then."
"Well...no. I bought someone to keep you company?"
"Who?"
Allison gives me another guilty look, playing awkwardly with the strap of her bag as she adverts her eyes. "Oh, no."I look past Allison to see Scott and none other than Stiles walking over towards us. Stiles gives an awkward wave as he approaches us. I have the sudden urge to run away, but I feel frozen in my position. Allison leans over to me to whisper in my ear, "don't frown, Lydia. Someone could be falling in love with your smile."

We shuffle into the theatre, finding our seats and plonking down in them as the previews begin. Of course Allison designates Stiles to sit next to me, and I am pretty sure she's scheming something. "Popcorn?" Stiles asks as he offers the huge bucket of buttery goodness to me.
"No thank you," I reply, not taking my eyes off the screen. Half because I was mad at him, and half because he looked amazing, even in the dim cinema.
"Do you want to talk about what happened?" He says it so casually, his eyes on the screen as well as he munches on a piece of popcorn.
"There's nothing to talk about," I lie.
"I didn't think you liked me in that way," he says after a moment, his voice a low hush.
"Why would you think that?" I ask, trying, and probably failing, to sound casual. Stiles shrugs.
"You kind of just left abruptly after our kiss, I figured you didn't want anything to happen. Then Malia rings me, upset because she just found out she's adopted. How crazy is that? And you can't really say no to someone who's just found out their parents aren't really their parents." I nod as he talks, taking in what he says and attempting to process it over the sounds of the start credits. Stiles suddenly turns to face me, his eyes sad and his voice quiet. "I'm sorry, Lydia. I've never really had anyone that's cared in that way. Whenever I fuck up it's just 'Stiles being Stiles.' You don't give me any of that bullshit, and that's what I love about you." I freeze at the word love, all the anger leaving my body at once. No, Stiles and I wouldn't date anytime soon. But he cared, he truly and honestly cared for me.We watch the first half of the movie in silence, despite the occasional "dude that was sick," being exchanged between Stiles and Scott. It's not until about 40 minutes in that the film gets really violent, blood and guts flinging everywhere as the zombies begin to take over the town. I try to act tough, like the sight of it all doesn't phase me. I didn't want to look like one of those stereotypical girls who squeals at horror movies, bu it made it harder with Allison sat across from me laughing at the "crappy special effects."
Trying to convince myself that it was all just fake blood and prosthetics did not work for me, and after awhile I had no choice but to look away and wince, all whilst attempting to keep my lunch in my stomach. Stiles looks over at me, immediately noticing me make a fool of myself. "This freaks me out too, you know?" He leans over to be heard over the loud speakers.
"Really?" I can't help but sound shocked, for some strange reason I always thought Stiles would be the kind of guy who wasn't afraid of anything.
"Yeah, it's terrifying. But you know what I do? I pretend it's all tomato sauce."
"Tomato sauce?"
"Mhm. These are just really hungry civilians that have a craving for tomato sauce." I can't help but laugh as I look up at the screen again and take in this new perspective. "Does that help?"
"Surprisingly yes. I'll never be able to eat tomato sauce again though."He laughs as a particularly gruesome scene begins to play out. I gulp hard as I cringe, when suddenly Stiles takes my hand in his. I look over, shocked, expecting him to realise what he'd done and release his grip at any moment. But he doesn't. He just sits there, giving my hand a little squeeze as he watches the screen like nothing has occurred.

After finishing the film (proudly without vomiting or passing out, I might add) the four of us managed to eat dinner before Allison drops me off home. I wasn't sure if she'd seen the hand holding, but I wasn't going to question it, it would make me sound like a twelve year old experiencing her first crush. Plus, I wasn't exactly sure how I felt about it.As I reach my porch I'm shocked to see Isaac sitting on the step, a bouquet of flowers in his hand. "Isaac, what are you doing here?" I stutter, completely stunned to see him at my house, I don't even know how he knows where I live.
"I just dropped by to say hi, and give you these." He offers the flowers to me, awkwardly looking down as I take them and thank him. Isaac looks like he's going to say something more, but then shuffles towards the drive way. "See you, then."
"Wait, Isaac," I call out whilst admiring the beautiful arrangement in my hands. "What's the real reason you came here?"
He turns around, keeping his head down as he runs his hand through his hair. It was weird seeing someone who was usually so confident this shy. "Well...I, I wanted to ask you out. But I figured you'd probably turn me down."
"Why would you think that?"
He shrugs slightly, scuffing his canvas shoe against the gutter edge.I'm mad that my immediate thought is Stiles, how he would feel about Isaac and I dating. It's not like I should care what he thinks. Sure, we've patched things up, but it was clear we were just friends. I should stop pining over a boy who was never going to choose me, and be with someone who was standing in my driveway professing how they felt for me. I expel Stiles from my mind as best as I can as I walk over to Isaac. "What if I wanted you to ask me out? If I said yes."
"Then I'd probably want to kiss you."
"Okay."
"Can I?"
"Yes." And then his lips were on mine.--------------
Author's Note
Hey guys
I can't believe I'm already halfway through writing this, and that it's already gotten so many views (for me anyway because I'm knew to Wattpad, haha).
Here's a bit of Stydia and Lysaac for you, sorry for having to have a love triangle! (Or diamond? Considering there's Malia as well.) Obviously there is not going to be any supernatural in this story, as I don't really feel like explaining it all and I want to focus on relationships. I just wanted to also say that be prepared for this story to stray from the original plot quiet a bit in the upcoming chapters, in terms of character development. Thanks again for reading and please don't forget to vote and comment what you think so far, as this encourages me to update sooner.
Also, please don't forget to follow me as I will be writing something new soon.
