"Isaac, where the hell are you?" I hiss into the phone, my left hand tapping nervously on the old leather chair I was sitting in. I shift uncomfortably as the pointy springs dig into the middle of my back. This had to be the sixteenth time I'd called Isaac in the last hour, and still there was no answer. I quickly hang up the phone as Sheriff Stilinski enters, scolding myself in my mind as I realise how suspicious I may appear. Yes, I was in the police station, more specifically in the Sheriff's office, my mind racing with a thousand thoughts.

The Sheriff awkwardly sits in his chair, clearing his throat as he neatens a pile of papers stacked upon his desk. It's awkward, really awkward. I've only spoken to Stiles' dad twice, the first time being when we were under attack from Isaac's father, and the second being in regards to the drug overdose that Stiles had had earlier in the week. And now, being called down to the police station, he must think trouble follows me around like a lost dog.

"Why am I here?" I ask, pinching the bridge of my nose and attempting not to yawn. It was 11:30pm, and I must be the only teenager on the planet that wants to go to bed before that time. The Sheriff looks up at me, his eyes sympathetic and his voice kind.
"As you're probably aware of by now, Isaac has gone missing. We're expecting run away."

"Why would you think that?" I snap, feeling irritated. I couldn't help it, I was always defending the people I cared about.

"Well, we did call him and ask him to come into the station about half an hour before he left town. His car is gone, so's his wallet." Sheriff Stilinski wheels his chair closer and looks me straight in the eyes. "Lydia, if you have something to tell us, now would be the time. We only want to ask questions about his father, that's all. He has nothing to be worried about." His tone is soft but stern at the same time, as if he's trying to get answers but not wanting to upset me in the process.

I gulp, suddenly feeling an onset of nerves. "I'm sorry, I don't know anything."

"So it's been 3 days and you haven't heard anything?" Allison asks, walking into yet another dress shop and holding a yellow prom dress to herself, examining it in the mirror.
"Nothing, I keep trying to ring but he won't answer."
"Are you worried?"
"O-of course." I stutter slightly. Of course I was worried for Isaac's well being, but the fact that the police had determined the case to be a runaway instead of anything suspicious irritated me. It shouldn't, but it did. I know I should be happy that he's safe wherever he is, but simultaneously I was infuriated at how he could leave me a week before prom. No message left, or apology gone, he just vanished from my life as quickly as he came into it.

It's as though Allison reads my mind, because after hanging the yellow dress back up and we begin walking towards the escalator Allison asks "so, what are you going to do about prom?"
"Prom?" I ask, as if it's the furthest thing from my mind.
"Yeah, you need to have a date."
"I don't need a date to have fun," I say through gritted teeth.
"So I'll have Scott, Danny will have Ethan, Jackson's going with that girl from biology, and you..."
"Will be perfectly fine all on my own, you don't need to find me a date."
"I kind of already did." Allison grins at me.
"What?" I ask, looking down the escalator and wondering how far I'd make it back down before tripping and falling on my face.

Too late. The escalator has already made it to the next floor, and as we step off I sigh "who is it?" Allison has her eyes set on someone leaning over the counter of the perfume range, examining an expensive bottle of fragrance. He holds it up to his face and sprays it, only for it to blast him in the face, causing him to stick out his tongue in disgust and drop the bottle back onto the counter. He stumbles back as he swats at the air, falling into a sunglasses rack and knocking a few pairs down.
"Him," she points. I follow her gaze and make an exasperated sigh, my jaw clenching tightly, "Stiles.

We begin to walk over towards him as I whisper underneath my breathe "he hates me."
"He doesn't hate you, Lydia," Allison laughs nervously, as I give her a doubtful look. "Okay, maybe he's a little mad after the whole incident, but he'll get over it."
"What about Malia?"
"Her parents booked a family trip to Michigan four months ago, they say she can't stay here."
"So I'm his backup?" I ask.
"Isn't he yours?"

We've walked over to Stiles before I have a chance to respond, although I'm not sure what I'd say anyway. I was never very good at arguments, I would just stutter and get frustrated before admitting defeat. But I was determined that this would not happen with Stiles.
"Ah, Allison, how'd I know it was going to be Lydia you would set me up with?" He has a friendly smile spread across his face, but his words are sarcastic, making me feel the sudden urge to roll my eyes.
"Maybe you're psychic," she bites back, although she too has a cheeky expression. "Cmon, you don't have Malia to go with," she wraps an arm around Stiles and my shoulders, "and you don't have Isaac to go with, it only makes logical sense." She pulls us close together. Stiles and I look at each other, perfectly synchronised in muttering "fine," to each other.

Author's Note
Hey guys, it's been awhile! (Sorry for that). Whilst it's been almost a month since I've updated, I'm excited to announce that this story has over 2.5 thousand reads! This may not seem a lot to some, but to me this is an incredible amount of reads as this is my first story on wattpad and first attempt at writing a fanfiction. Thank you so much for taking time to read my story, and please don't forget to like and comment on every chapter as this really inspires me to continue writing and ensures faster updates.
I'm also pleased to announce that I've decided on my next fanfic, which will be a Dan and Phil (Phan) fic, as I'm new to the fandom and thought it'd be fun, so I hope you like them and will enjoy reading that story. I also am planning my own wattpad story that isn't a fan fiction, but I need to plan that a lot more before giving any details, because right now a summary would probably make the story sound really crazy!

Please don't forget to like and comment this chapter, do you think Allison's plan will work? Will it bring Lydia and Stiles together or push them apart? And what about Isaac? What do you thinks happened to him? All questions will be answered soon but feel free to leave your theories below.😊
