"I'm sorry, Nezuko. I failed to protect you... from myself." Tanjiro said.
"Will you shut up? There's no reason for you to become human, they hate you." Muzan argued.
"That's not for you to decide." Tanjiro said. "I can smell they're worried."
"You've made them suffer and you want to go back?" Muzan asked. "You are scum."
Tanjiro just stared up at Muzan, the flesh below him consuming him once more. He tried to escape, to get to the light above, but Muzan held tight.
"Let go." Tanjiro said. "I'll stay as the demon king if... if I am truly in control. With my human reason."
"Sure, i'll take that offer." Muzan said.
He allowed Tanjiro to go towards the light, he held Tanjiro's ankle just to make sure Tanjiro wouldn't go back on the offer.
Tanjiro slightly opened one eye to see Nezuko hovering over him. He wasn't human, he knew that, but he had his human reason and that was good enough.
