As he drove away, Sofia took a deep breath and went inside her apartment building. She couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to Xavier than met the eye.

Meanwhile, Xavier arrived at his mansion, an enormous and immaculately decorated house on the outskirts of the city. He parked his car in the garage and made his way inside, greeted by the sound of his wife, Jenna, yelling from the kitchen.

"Xavier, where have you been? I've been waiting for you all day!" she exclaimed.

Xavier sighed, knowing that this was not going to be a pleasant conversation. He walked into the kitchen and gave Jenna a kiss on the cheek before pouring himself a drink.

"I had a long day at work," he said, taking a sip of his drink. "You know what work is, right?"

"Cut the bullshit, Xavier," Jenna said, her voice rising. "You're always working and never have time for me. We haven't even fucked in weeks!"

"Jenna may I remind you that I work while you literally just drain every credit card I own," he said annoyed. "Listen, I'll make time to fuck you ok?:

Jenna gave him a cold stare. "You always say that, but you never follow through. I'm tired of being ignored, Xavier. If things don't change, I don't know how much longer I can take it."

He took another sip of his drink, feeling powerless and alone. "Really? Leave if you're not happy in this marriage. The door is right there." He growled.

"Fuck you." She said as she stormed off.

As he sat there in silence, he couldn't help but think about Sofia. She was new to the company, but there was something about her that intrigued him. Maybe it was her ambition. Whatever it was, he couldn't deny that he felt drawn to her.

Xavier pushed the thought out of his mind, knowing that it was dangerous territory. He had a wife and a marriage to save, and he couldn't afford to make any more mistakes.

Sofia was sitting at her desk, going through some paperwork when the phone rang. She picked up the receiver and answered with her usual professional greeting.

"Good afternoon, this is Sofia speaking. How may I assist you?"

"WHO IS THIS?!" A woman's voice shouted on the other end.

Sofia was taken aback by the sudden outburst but quickly regained her composure. "This is Sofia from Xavier James Enterprise Inc. May I ask who's calling?"

"I AM JENNA, XAVIER'S WIFE! WHERE IS HE? I'VE BEEN TRYING TO REACH HIM ALL MORNING!"

She felt a knot form in her stomach. She knew that Xavier was in an important meeting and didn't want to disturb him, but Jenna's tone made it clear that she was not to be trifled with.

"I'm sorry, Mrs. James, but Mr. James is currently in a meeting. Would you like me to leave him a message?"

"I DON'T WANT TO LEAVE A MESSAGE, I WANT TO SPEAK TO HIM NOW!"

Sofia hesitated for a moment, unsure of what to do. She knew that interrupting Xavier's meeting would not go down well, but she also didn't want to anger his wife any further.

"I understand your frustration, Mrs. James, but Mr. James is unavailable at the moment. If you could please leave a message, I will make sure he gets it as soon as possible."

"NO, I WILL NOT LEAVE A MESSAGE. I AM HIS WIFE, AND I DEMAND TO SPEAK TO HIM NOW!"

Sofia could feel her palms starting to sweat. She didn't want to be the one to anger her boss's wife.

"I'm sorry, but I can not interrupt Mr. Xavier's meeting. I will make sure he gets your message as soon as possible."

"YOU LISTEN TO ME, YOUNG LADY. I AM HIS WIFE, AND I WILL NOT BE IGNORED. IF YOU DON'T PUT HIM ON THE PHONE RIGHT NOW, I WILL MAKE SURE YOU REGRET IT!"

Sofia took a deep breath and made a decision. She knew that Xavier would not want his wife to be treated poorly.

"Please hold for a moment."

She placed the phone on hold and quickly walked to Xavier's office. She knocked softly on the door and waited for a response.

"Come in," Xavier's voice called out.

Sofia opened the door and stepped inside. "I'm sorry to interrupt, Sir, but your wife is on the phone, and she sounds very upset. She insists on speaking with you."

Xavier sighed and rubbed his temples. He knew that his wife could be difficult to deal with, but he also knew that Sofia wouldn't have interrupted his meeting if it wasn't important.

"Thank you, Sofia. I'll take the call in my office."

She nodded and quickly made her way back to her desk. She picked up the phone and took it off hold.

"Mrs. Xavier, I apologize for the delay. Mr. Xavier will speak with you now."

She transferred the call to Xavier's office and let out a sigh of relief.

After Sofia transferred the call, she took a moment to gather herself. She knew that she had made the right decision, but she still felt a bit shaky from the encounter with Jenna.

She took a few deep breaths and then stood up from her desk. As she walked past Xavier's office, she saw that he was alone, and a sudden impulse took over her.

Without thinking, she walked into his office and closed the door behind her. He looked up from his desk, surprised to see her.

"Sofia? What's wrong?"

"I just wanted to apologize for interrupting your meeting earlier. I know how important it was, but I didn't know what else to do. Your wife sounded so upset."

"It's okay. You did the right thing. Don't worry about it."

She felt a sudden rush of emotions as she looked into his eyes.

"Sir, I..." She trailed off, unsure of what to say.

"Sofia, don't worry, I'm not mad at you."

"Right, um."

"Make a reservation for lunch today," Xavier said abruptly, not taking his eyes off the screen.

"Of course, sir," Sofia replied, reaching for her notepad.

"At the Ritz-Carlton," Xavier continued, finally glancing up at Sofia.

She raised an eyebrow in surprise but quickly composed herself. She had grown used to Xavier's demanding nature, but this was a rather unusual request.

"Absolutely, sir," she said calmly. "What time would you like the reservation for?"

"12:30 should be fine," Xavier replied, turning his attention back to his computer.

Sofia scribbled down the details and turned to leave, but he called her back.

"Oh, and Sofia?" he said, looking up at her again. "You'll be joining me for lunch."

She felt her heart skip a beat. She had always found Xavier intimidating, and the prospect of having lunch with him at an expensive restaurant was both exciting and terrifying.

"Me, sir?" she stammered.

"Yes, you," Xavier said with a small smile. "Consider it an apology for my wife's behavior."

Sofia couldn't believe it. She felt a surge of gratitude and excitement but also a twinge of nervousness.

"Thank you, sir," she managed to say. "I'll make sure everything is taken care of."

As she left Xavier's office, Sofia couldn't help but feel a little overwhelmed. She had always thought of Xavier as a distant and unapproachable boss, but now she was going to have lunch with him at the Ritz-Carlton. It was a small gesture, but it made her feel valued and appreciated in a way she had never experienced before.
