The trio quickly pushed their opponents off. The thief had been seen. Well, their Totodile had been. He was climbing the Sprout Tower, nearing the top. Then he saw them.
A female easily beat some sages with the Totodile. So much for taking it back. He noticed the girl had a small limb from something. She went to leave when he got in the way.

She clearly didn't like him because she beat him easily. He was able to ask about the limp. All she said was "Should've stopped them. Sorry." Sorry? She knew the attackers, but was taking the blame? Interesting.
He caught up again down in Ilex Forest, when she saved him from an ambush.
