After a long day in class, my exam was done. I finally get to relax for the day. James and I decided to meet up with a friend of ours, Josephine for lunch at Trea La Café in the city.
The cafè was small and comfortable, with the scent of freshly brewed coffee. Plants hanging from the ceilings, with open glass windows to bring in the sunshine.
After taking in the view of this gorgeous place, I feel a hand on my shoulder.
"Hey Em!" Josephine said excitedly. Hugging me so tight, like she hasn't seen me in years. She went over to James, hugging him from behind with the brightest smile. If I was correct, it always seemed as if she had a crush on him, but I would never pry her into telling me.
"Hi Josie, I'm so happy we're all here. We haven't hung out in so long. Ya know, with school and all." I said, shifting my body to look for the waiter or waitress to arrive.
Waiting for Josie's response, she gave me a small pout, "I know, it's like college is important or something." She said jokingly. "So, anything new happening with you guys?"
James rolled his eyes so hard, they might fall out. "Yeah, we have this new writing professor. We were 30 minutes late today, which he didn't like apparently." James said as he stiffened his lips. I guess he doesn't like Mr. Pascal very much from our short meeting.
"Well" Josie paused, "is he hot?" she said looking at me.
I was flabbergasted. My eyes wide as to what she said. "Ew Josie, he's like 40. Plus he's our professor." I didn't have the courage to say that he was actually good looking. I don't want to come off as a creep. He'sway to old for me, also he had a bit of an attitude. Maybe it's because it was his first day and he wasn't used to being around so many students. - I stopped thinking about it once James chimed in.
"So what? You're allowed to think he's hot. You just can't have your way with him" as he winked at me.
I rolled my eyes and laughed at his stupid joke. Once I saw the waiter coming with the menus, I got ready to look over all of my choices of food.
After a fun afternoon of lunch with James and Josie, I decided to head back to my dorm. I got a cab since James wanted to stay and hangout a bit longer. Saying my goodbyes to both of them, getting into the cab, heading home.
................
The sound of an alarm went off again. Ugh I don't want to get up but I had no choice. This time I wasn't late for class, since I woke up an hour early. Looking for an outfit to wear, going though my closet and drawers, I found a pretty blue sundress with tiny white flowers. It makes my green eyes look even greener.
Walking down to class, I sit in my seat. It was empty in the room because I came in 30 minutes early but that was only going to last a couple seconds.
BAM.
A loud noise came from behind me. The door closed. I see a figure walking down the steps of the class.
I recognized the figure, even though I only met him once. It was Mr. pascal. As he was walking down the steps, he must have noticed me from the corner of his eye. Looking at me with confusion.
"Amelia? What are you doing here so early?" Mr. Pascal asked. "Uh I.. I was up early, so I decided to come in and wait for class to start, if that's okay with you?" I motioned my hand up to him, stuttering a bit, to make sure it was okay.
He looked at me with furrowed eyes, before nodding. "Yes, you're fine."
Geez, why is he so hostile. I don't question him for being the way he was. Maybe he's just tired.
I look down at my pages that I recently worked on, even sometimes drawing on the corners of the pages. I do that when I finish before anyone else. I don't mean too, it's just a habit.
Eventually I looked up and seen Mr. Pascal fumbling with some paperwork. It looked as if he thought he did something wrong.
Before I knew it, I opened my mouth.
"Are you okay?" I ask, loud enough to make sure he heard me. Without hesitation, he looked up though his eye brows, opening his mouth - "Yes Amelia, I'm okay. Just trying to figure out these test scores. I must have mis-calculated something."Tilting my head unsure of what he meant, I let my feet take me away to where he was sitting. His arms were crossed with a puzzled look on his face. He looks so serious.
Unsure of what to do next, I look at what he's doing. He messed up on the paperwork. I've seen Mrs. Thoucher do this plenty of times. She wasn't a nice lady to most people, but to me, she always had a smile on her face.
"Well... you're papers are all mixed up first off, and second, that's not how they're supposed to be graded." I said, intently looking down on the papers he was holding.
Mr. Pascal glanced at me. "And how do you know this? I'm supposed to be the teacher here." He lightly chuckled. The sound of his chuckle made my belly twirl. I don't know why it felt like that?
"I used to help my old professor sometimes. Kind of like a teachers assistant but not really. She would ask me for help, sometimes we would work at her office when she was over loaded with work, but it was rare." I shrugged. He was staring at me intently.
"You're an odd one Amelia." What? What's that supposed to mean? That was a random thing for him to bring up.
"Huh? What do you mean by that?" I awkwardly laughed. I do this small laugh when I'm nervous. Which I'm pretty sure he could tell by the way he was looking at me."You're just different. You're timid, always by yourself." He pointed out. I've only technically been in his class once. How does he know this?
He must of caught on to me wondering why he said that. He decided to give me a slight grin. "I see you in the halls. You're either alone or with that boyfriend of yours. James is it?"He thinks James in my boyfriend? Little does he know, James is gay. He has a long distance boyfriend. How he makes that long distance thing work, I have no clue.
Laughing awkwardly again, I stated "what? no James is just my friend. He doesn't like me like that, that's for sure." I laughed to myself, knowing he's not into girls.
As I was laughing, I dropped my phone out of my hands. I went to pick it up, bending over when I caught Mr. pascal staring at my ass. I felt my cheeks go red. Shocked, I stood up as fast as I could and walked back to my seat
Mr. Pascal thanked me for helping before putting his head down.
I wonder what he was thinking?
