Both Men went by Mose wright's home and kidnapped Emmett Till, when they were in a shed, they tied him up and beaten him to death , shooting him in the back of the head, as well as pulling his teeth out, and gashing his eye out. Leaving one of his eyes hanging off his cheek, and the other eye missing which they shot out.
His body was so brutally unrecognizable, that even his uncle couldn't identify him. He identified him by the ring on his finger with his father's initials "LT" Louis Till.
They tried to bury him in a unmarked grave in Mississippi before his mother got involved .
When she found out, she immediately wanted his body shipped back to Chicago, so she could identity him and see if the body was hers .
