When the media knew about the kidnapping and lynching of Emmett Till, Carolyn Bryant was in the newspaper describing Carolyn Bryant as a "pretty brunette"
Along side the encounter with Emmett and Carolyn . JW Milam had a brother Leslie Milam who owned the shed they kidnapped Till and brought him in.
Roy Bryant and JW Milam also worked as truck drivers to earn a little more extra money . JW Milam was 6ft tall weighing 235 pounds . Milam served in WW ll (world war ll)
And also claimed he knew how to "handle" blacks .
JW Milam only had a ninth grade education and fought in Europe and had a Purple Heart , silver heart; and other medals .
