I was talking while stretching with Brooke when Abby calls us in, after everyone walks in she asks Jill

"What's with your shoes?"

"I didn't think you'd mind, I'm on my toes"

"The floor is $68,000, alright. First, I want to talk about last week, I must say I'm a little disappointed. We were just outdanced, it's that energy level, you can't have a bunch of slugs out on stage. This weekend we will be attending Dance Explosion, in Secaucus, New Jersey. Your gonna get some heavy hitters there, I'm telling you right now. I'm gonna start with the pyramid. And first, I have Kendall, I thought you did a nice job, you're here because your mother is way too needy"

"Abby, that's ridiculous"

"Why isn't she doing a solo? Why isn't she doing a duet? Why doesn't she have a special part?"

"And that's needy. That's inquisitive, why doesn't she have a solo? Your punishing her for something I did"

"Bingo, there you go. Moving on, Nia, once again, I need to see energy, I need to see excitement. Next, we have Brooke, you're back, but is Brooke really back? Moving on, Paige, great job in the tuck, I just need to see you do that throughout all of your dancing. Moving up on the ladder, Maddie, you danced well, I expect more from you. Chloe, same thing, great performance on stage, you just need to learn to pick up quicker. Next, I have Y/n, you got first place on your solo, you beat Brooke, but I did see you mess up a little in the group dance, but overall nice job. And at the top of the pyramid, Mackenzie" we then clap for her

"She won in Nutlet, New Jersey, she won in Long Island, New York. You you have another win in you for Secaucus, New Jersey, I don't know. We are not going to do a group routine this week, each and every dancer will be doing a solo, it's every man for himself, this is your chance to shine. And for one time only, you all get to help out with costumes" Abby tells the mom's

"This is your chance to go for That Tony Christi. Your gonna come to me, show me what you have, and I can veto it, or I can accept it. I don't want to see anything from any other studios, I want to see you come up with something original. Mom's, I'm gonna dismiss you at this time. Girls, spread apart, start warming up."

We then start doing some tricks and some stretching, after a while she goes over Mackenzie's solo, after her's, Abby calls in Maddie, after Maddie's, we go over mine

"Okay, your solo is an acrobatic routine, I want you to try acro because you've been doing lyrical for a while now and I want you to give something else for a chance. So, your solo is called "Never let me go", you only have three days to get this number right, let's get started" after we went over everyone's solo we all went home.

The next day

Some of us were practicing our solos and some were trying on the costumes. I was going over my solo when we had to stop because Abby called us, we go to where she was sitting and she says

"This guy calls and says "Well, I'm calling to let you from Dance Explosion to let you know that the competition this weekend has been cancelled because there's not enough people coming"."

"So what are our options?" Jill asks

"We have eight solos. The kids have worked hard and they're gonna do the routine somewhere else"

"Why don't we call around and see if there's another competition that we could go to?" Kelly asks

"Girls, by all means, do not slack off. I don't care if there's one person against you, or a thousand people against you. You should go out and do the best performance that you can. Understood? Yes? Okay. Back to class." When we got back to class Gia starts going over our solos.
