A/N: I don't own Smallville or any characters and places in the DC universe. Nor do I own the episodes that these chapters are based on and contained.

I also don't claim to be a writer. My inspiration is simply to get a creative outlet going.

I only own Tyla Nevin and what pertains to her character story.

Tyla stayed by the kitchen of the manor, with a tea in her hand and a pair of multivitamins in the other. She wasn't sure how long she was in there until the staff walked in and shooed her out. It was then that she bumped into Lex, doing up his tie and walking around to look for her. He put his hand over her cup of tea to keep it from spilling as she winced. "You've been restless," he noted. It was more of the fact that she would toss and turn at night. Only to be running through hoops during the day.

"I haven't been able to sleep," was all that she said.

"I've noticed that...lately," he tucked a strand of her hair out of the way. "Are you doubting because of our baby?"

Tyla raised an eyebrow and then shook her head. "No but it's making me think about a lot of things in our life," she replied, honestly.

He finished doing up his tie and placed his hands on her hips. "Whatever needs to change, I'll make it happen."

"Partnership, Lex," she said, reaching up to kiss him on the cheek. "We both need to make it happen." She eyed his attire and then frowned. "Was there a board meeting?"

"No, I need to be in the office all day," he watched as her expression fell. "But...I was thinking this weekend, we could go to an art opening. There are three lost Vermeer paintings that were just discovered last month."

"How did the Metropolis Museum snag that?"

"Actually, it's a bit farther. The Rijksmuseum."

"In Amsterdam?"

"I thought who better to spend one of the most romantic cities in the world for a few days," Lex replied, "I'd want to make more trips like this."

"Extravagant dates?"

"Outings as a family."

She gave him a smile and then led him to the study. "Are you sure you have to go into the office today?"

"Believe me, if I could stay with you, I would."

"Well...how long until you have to leave?"

"About an hour." He leaned in to kiss her. His lips brushed against hers until one of the guards opened the door, walking Clark in.

"Mr. Kent, Sir."

The sternness on Lex's face made Tyla look over questionably.

But it made Lex stare down at his former friend, annoyed. "I thought I told you you're no longer a welcome guest at the mansion," he growled.

"Trust me, I don't want to be here either," Clark mumbled, looking to Tyla who turned away from him. It confused him. She was usually the one who would prevent the fight from happening. "But after what you've done...."

"And exactly what did I do so early during the day? Did I swat at a fly with too much force?"

"I know you want to make money, Lex, at any cost, but exploiting and murdering migrant workers? Is that really worth the bottom line? Some of those people were just kids."

Tyla and Lex shared a look. It was partly with concern mixed with some unknown look. "Clark, if you're going to accuse me of murder, you might want to have the facts to back it up," Lex added, turning back to his former friend.
