A/N: I don't own Smallville or any characters and places in the DC universe. Nor do I own the episodes that these chapters are based on and contain from.

I also don't claim to be a writer. My inspiration is simply to get a creative outlet going.

I only own Tyla Nevin and what pertains to her character story.

Lex stood in front of the mirror with the tailor, eying at the suit that he was wearing. Through the reflection, he saw the love of his life, sitting on the couches as she was typing on her cell phone. He frowned, usually she wasn't so engrossed in work. Usually, when it came to Lex, she was ever so present. "Tell me," he said, turning around to show her. "Is it me, or do I look like a waiter serving high tea?" It was a mere black suit; his white dress shirt made him feel that something was left.

Tyla looked up and thought for a bit. "A dark tie," she replied after a bit. "To match the masks?" She pocketed her phone and walked up to her husband. "But you look like the most handsome man that I ever laid eyes on." She cooed the last sentence, finishing it with a kiss.

"Learning your charms from me?" He pondered as he kissed her back, earning a sweet giggle from her lips. "Good answer though." He looked up at the tailor. "Questo è perfetto. Qualche cravatta?"*

"Sigura," the tailor nodded and left the two of them to grab more materials from his car.**

"Now, you seem distracted." Lex noted as he stepped off the podium.

Tyla looked nervous. Unsure of how to tell him of the recent developments. "There's been some snags," she started to say, feeling a little uncomfortable. "Your father's been bold as of late."

Lex blinked. He knew that Tyla was very much close in finding what she needed to commit Lionel but if she was this nervous, it meant that it wasn't going to be easy. "I regret inviting them to your birthday," he said. "I don't think now is the best time to confront them."

"No, I'd prefer it in a public place. With the people I love." She bit her bottom lip. While she planned her birthday, Chloe was kidnapped, and Clark had found files from a new doctor who had someone that detected other meteor freaks. Then Tyla has suspected that Lionel had found out that little adventure and sent Lana to get rid of the subject, just so they were off the trail. She needed to put a stop to it before anyone else got hurt. Even with Chloe and Clark's additional protests to Lana, it was clear what side she was on.

"Are you sure?" Lex asked her.

"Chloe has been downloading the files to my hard drive as we speak. We have copies upon copies," she mumbled.

Lex looked up to the ceiling. He couldn't be the voice of reason at this moment. "Perhaps, you talk to Lana. I'll talk to my father," he mused. "Divide and conquer."

"This isn't one of those games that you two play," she warned.

"No, but you weren't eating for two last time," Lex added. "Ty...if things are really getting heated as you say, how do you think he's going to react that you been sending a bounty to destroy his warehouses? Especially since it was all meant to slow him down."

She paused. Only to sigh after. "I don't want to handle another threat." She said, even though it meant that she was close.

"I don't think he would do another threat this time."

"Fine, we'll do it your way."

"Our way."
