A/N

So this started off as a way of rewriting my dungeon buddies fic, but Agent pointed out the problem that there was no way for a happy ending to happen given D's nature and power. So we tried to think of how it would be possible, and of course the solution is to throw EoS Rimuru at it! I tell you, it's better than Flex Tape. Hope you enjoy.

By the way, join @AgentT123 's discord, we usually vibe there if you have questions. There's no way to put coworker status into fics like AO3 can, so follow him too, I guess.

Also join his discord. He's got me at gunpoint. Help me. https://discord.gg/aV9cGRYAtH

Anyway, into the story!

3rd Person POV

Rimuru was standing at the edge of the Cardinal World's space.

"Ciel, is there nothing else to explore?" The True Dragon touched the facade of a star, disappointed.

<No. You've gone as far as the Cardinal World goes.> Ciel explained. <It is a single planet, a star, and a natural satellite. This was necessary to give them the durability exceeding an average universe.>

Rimuru sighed. "So instead we have this fake sky? Why not make a real one?"

<The Cardinal World's magicule density far exceeds an average universe. Any universe that had the Cardinal World in it would immediately collapse.>

"So there isn't much we can do then?" It was an odd thing for the Demon Lord to think, having not had such a limitation in dozens of years.

The manas stayed silent for a long time, and used her full processing ability to come up with possible solutions to her partner's unspoken request. Before finally saying. <There may be a way, however it would likely take a long time.>

"What do you mean, Ciel? Isn't this the end of the space?" The slime tilted their head, for no one but the manas to see.

<We could create a universe centered on the Cardinal World, and separate it from the rest of the space with a barrier. After this, we would create ley-lines within the space, to slowly increase its magicule density.>

Rimuru closed their eyes tightly out of habit, to simply envision this. "I.. Think I see where you are going with this. After that we'd open the barrier only when the rest of the universe could handle the cardinal world being inside it?"

<Correct. This process is estimated to take approximately a thousand years. However, in that time the universe is unlikely to evolve life.>

Rimuru huffed. "Well what's the point then? If we don't have things to meet, it is just a bunch of rocks and burning balls of plasma out there." He crossed his arms, the sour mood coming back a bit.

Ciel responded by sending Rimuru feelings of hope. <It may be possible to stimulate the growth of life, by dilating time within the rest of the universe, making it faster. . To progress the passing of two billion years, it is estimated that the time which would pass on the cardinal world would be two thousand years.>

Rimuru slowly nodded, and came to a conclusion. "That is just what we'll need to do then. Can we replace this facade with a barrier right now?"

<I have already started working on it.>

Rimuru felt a small twinge in their nucleic heart. "Always so reliable."

...

So, under the stewardship of the wisest manas, and the power of the strongest being within the Cardinal World, [Turn Null] was invoked, and the creation of an infinite three dimensional space centered on the Cardinal World began. It only took moments,
