Without you I'm nothing

Chapter 52

Anakin's eyes snapped open. A couple seconds ago he felt like he was falling. He had a nightmare again but it wasn't like the one he used to have about his mother. This dream didn't feel like it's going to happen soon or ever. It was just a normal nightmare. But it still scared him. His heart was racing he felt like he is suffocating.

He sat up and tried to calm down a little. He ran his fingers through his hair his heart and breath started to slowed down after awhile. He knew he couldn't go back to sleep. He just couldn't fall asleep after what happened. Or even if he could the nightmares would come back.

He look at Padme who was still sleeping peacefully next to him. He smiled a little and gave a kiss on her forehead then got out of bed.

He went to the living room and sat on the couch. It was around 5 am. Padme have to leave in three hours and he he'll be sitting alone in this apartment all day long because the council doesn't lets him go back to war for at least a week. Ahsoka had training with Obiwan so he had no chance of hanging out with her either.

About ten minutes later he was just looking out of the window. Speeders flying around the buildings. Corusant was busier at night than it is at day time.
He didn't noticed Padme coming out of their bedroom with a blanket around her. He got lost in thoughts. He only noticed her when she sat down next to him on the couch and rested her head on his shoulder.

"Hey." Padme said. Her voice was sleepy she was probably still half asleep.

"Did I wake you?" Anakin asked quietly.

"No I was just cold and I noticed you weren't there so I came to tell you to bring me more blankets."

"As you wish Angel." Anakin said with a little smile on his face than picked Padme up to bring her back to their bed.

He put her down then went to get some more blankets for them.

"Do you need anything else?"

"No just you." Padme said than pulled Anakin closer to herself.

A couple minutes flew by. Anakin still couldn't sleep he was scared of what he experienced. He didn't wanted to feel it again. He thought Padme was already asleep but she wasn't so he was surprised when she spoke again.

"Why were you awake?" She asked.

"I couldn't sleep."

"Why?"

"It's nothing don't worry just go to sleep you'll have a long day tomorrow."

"Ani. I'm not sleeping until you tell me." She was really stubborn sometimes.

"I had a nightmare. I was falling but it's fine."

"It's definitely not fine."

"It's because I know it's just a dream. When I had nightmares of my mother's...of my mother it felt different like I knew inside it wasn't just a stupid dream. But this is just a dream and I shouldn't worry about. You shouldn't worry about it. It won't happened again I promise you it'll never happen again."

"Ani it's not your fault. And of course it won't happen again because we won't let Palpatine or Sidius win. We'll win this war. Together. And then we'll live out happy life that we always dream of. Everything will be alright." She said. It's seemed like she was trying to calm Anakin down but she also tried to convince herself that nothing bad is going to happen to them. From now on they'll concentrate on ending this war. And than...than they can have the happy ever after they always dreamed of.
