ashanti snorted as she heard xandria singing along to the speaker while she showered. they were getting ready in the room, finishing their makeup for this so called "party" tonight.
vinnie told them the party started at ten and that the two could come down whenever they were comfortable. he seemed excited to have everyone over but ashanti could be feeling a little better about everything.
she was hoping that vinnie would keep his promise to stay by her side all night since this is an unfamiliar place. she sighed, putting down the lipgloss in her hand.
"that shower is so nice. these people got it like that!" xandria beamed after walking out of the bathroom.
ashanti nodded, "now that you're out here, should i wear the pink jacket to match my beanie or should i wear the black one?"
"pink all the way. you're gonna look all cute. look all cute for vinnie huh?"
"it's not like that.."
xandria cackled, "it's been like that! what do you mean girl!? you want that white man so ba-"
ashanti chucked a pillow at her friend, abruptly cutting of her sentence. "if you say one more damn word, it's gonna be a rock next time."
"you love~ me!" xandria giggled, "i'm being so serious ash, we've been over this! you want him, he wants you. he proved it with that little thang thang you got on your neck."
ashanti instinctively reached up to the necklace resting above the leo necklace desi got for them on their 18th birthday.
"when he gave it to me, i felt like-" ashanti stopped, exhaling deeply, "i don't know- i felt.."
"appreciated?"
ashanti smiled, "appreciated."
"yes. that is what happens when you deal with shit men ashanti." xandria pointed out, "the roach under my bed was better than omarion. you feel so good because vinnie is good for you."
ashanti stayed silent for a second.
"okay, you got me."
"i know i did. you better make a move tonight or i have failed as a parent."
"you're annoying." ashanti chuckled, "fine. we'll see how tonight goes.."
