We had just landed in Barcelona and arrived at our house, the time was around 10 am when we finally arrived at the house I grew up in. Still in all of beauty holding all of my memories, I wandered up the stairs taking small steps just to take it all in. All of my memories ever in my childhood, all in this house. Every little detail was still there,from the dent I put in the wall when we first moved in with my Barbie car to even the bite marks on the door frame from when I was a toddler.
To say it was a very bittersweet moment would be an understatement. I walked into my room that was exactly the way we left it last year right before we went back to Paris.
I put my suitcase in my closet and went to collapse into my bed as I was very tired
I sat with my head in the pillow until I heard a knock at my door
"Carmen can I come in?" I hear my mother yell from the opposite side of the door
"Not right now I'm tired" I mumble back
The door still opens
"To tired for Mia?" She asks
My head shoots up and I see Mia in my room
"OH MY GOODNESS" I yell as I shoot all the way out of my bed and run and give her the biggest hug
"surprise!" She says quietly
"I knew you were coming tho" I say lifting an eyebrow
"Yes but I came earlier than we planned. So surprise" she says
"Im very thankful, so tomorrow your finally 18. How are you feeling?" I ask and scurry over to my bed
She follows me and sit on the edge
"I feel like I'm going to be fine, I was thinking about something that I want to run by you though." She says seeming rather eager
"Spit it out" I say and chuckle
"What if we like just traveled for the next few months, kind of go everywhere we've never gone or just places we love" she said
"I'm honestly in love with that idea" I say
"On the topic of love, have yo said the dreaded L word to sweet Gavi?" She asks
I look to the ground and ran my fingers through my hair
"I haven't, matter of a fact I think the last time I said it was to Landon at least a year ago." I say quietly
"Well it's not like a bad thing, it's okay to wait if you don't feel comfortable or something" she says and squeezes my hand
"No no it's not even that. I just don't know if I'm ready to surrender that power again you know? Like I said it to Landon and I meant it, but he took that and cheated on me. And if Landon did it Gavi could do it in a heartbeat" I say shakily
"Carmen, I know that your scared, believe me I know. But he really does love you. Whenever I would go hangout with pedri and Gavi was there he would never stop gushing about you, just on and on. He always wanted to know like smaller updates that you would only tell me, he really cares. So I'm not saying marry the guy. I'm saying remember that he isn't Landon." She says
"Wait. You and pedri?" I say and smirk
"No Carmen this is about you right now" she says blushing and obviously trying to get out of it
"Okay fine I will try to be more open. Topic closed. So pedri?" I say and move closer to her
"Look if there was something to tell you I would but it's just so confusing. Like I talk to him all night and we have gone out a few times but he never asked me to be his girlfriend, he hasn't even specified what we are so I remain as curious as you" she says and laughs
"Well look at us. Bad at love" I say
"Good thing we have each other am I right" she ask
"Your right" I respond and give her a high five
"Well I'm bored so what are we going to do?" I ask
"The beach, the pool, go shopping you name it I'll do it" she says
"How about we go for a drive." I say
"To anywhere specific?" She asks and stands up
"Nope just drive until we see something interesting" I say as I walk over to put on shoes
"You can drive my car" she say and tosses me her keys
We let my parents know where we would be going and what we would be doing then we were off.
