Amar spoke his routine greeting to Selah. He and Dante we're arch enemies doing petty shot to piss one another off but he was always cordial and pleasant to Selah.

Their work schedules seemed to be around the same time, so he was always walking the hallway the same time as her. As they began walking out of the door, Selah bumped into Amar trying tonne the first one out of the door. She wasn't trying to be childish but keeping the peace required her to take extra precautionary measures.

"You really don't watch where you're going, huh?" Amar said while looking down at Selah.

"Yes I do, I was just trying to walk out the door before you."

My boyfriend is crazy and obviously doesn't like me talking to or being around you."

"You need to get rid of that loser." Amar mumbled under his breath.

Selah raised her eyebrows. Hey, I heard that."

Amar chuckled. "Good."

Selah became flustered. She wasn't used to men being this bold. Usually when she told men that we're trying to holler, they fell back. "Uh, I gotta before in late for work. It was nice speaking to you."  Selah said before dashing out of the door.

Amar watched her walk away before leaving to go to work himself. He felt like trey songs, couldn't help but wait until Selah was his.

It's not a physical romance, but an emotional one. The truth is, Lost in Translation is about the intimacy of human connection. Through all of the love, loss, disorientation, and sleepless nights in a new place, being able to find someone who understands or wants to understand you is a trip on its own.

"Oh my god, bitch you might end up in a love triangle." Giyani said as she chewed on her gum. She was supposed to be working, but per usual she was at Selah's cubicle talking her head off.

Selah palmed her forehead. "Stop Gigi, no I'm not, don't say that."

"It's the truth, you seem to like him and he seems to like you, and you obviously don't wanna let Dante trash ass go. So love triangle it is." Giyani said with a shrug.

"I hear you but I could never cheat on Dante. I hate his guts sometimes but I love him more."

Giyani sighed. "I feel bad for you and this crazy love you have for Dante. He fucks up and you forgive his stankin' ass every time."

Selah rolled her eyes. "Giyani please, I don't say nothing to you about the lil harem you got."

"Thats not the same but alright. Soon as you figure out what you really want you'll go with the better option and I am leave it at that."

"Thank you." Selah said with a smile, oozing sarcasm.

Giyani rolled her eyes playfully as she laughed. "I can't stand you."

"Lies you love me"

"I gueessss, let me go back to work before the supervisor start trippin'."

"See you when shift ends." Selah replied as Giyani walked away.

Throughout her workday Selah couldn't but think about what Giyani told her. Was she missing out, does Dante make her feel content and complete, is she wasting her time? All plagued her. When in reality she knew the answer. She was falling out of love with Dante but scared to try someone new due to trust issues.

There were so many good memories between her and Dante, that it saddened her the way their relationship was failing. She was 26 and lost in translation. Only receiving affection when money was involved. The way she was loved or unloved to be real, drained her. She was tired but scared to be alone. Dante was all she had. Her plan to leave him alone pushed further into the back of her mind everytime he suddenly wanted to be romantic. Which wasn't much but average sex.

8pm came fast and Selah was now walking into her apartment building. She was walking ever so slowly because she was scared to open the door and catch Dante cheating again. The look of fear and disdain mixed together was evident on her face.

Halfway into the hallway Selah bumped into Amar who told her. "Smile sometimes, the world not ending."

She quickly rolled her eyes at his statement. But inside she was smitten and it gave her the extra courage to keep pushing.
