It's been two days since I interrogated Damien and then having to bring Kai'sa home after, thankfully she believes it was some sort of dream and doesn't remember anything about that day.
I'm sitting in a tavern on the beach waiting for someone to join me when I hear someone on the barstool next to me, "Should've known you wouldn't die that easy."
"In a way I did." I say before signaling the bartender, "But that's in the past."
"You're paying?" She asks and I nod, "What a gentleman."
"Just this round." I say as the bartender stops in front of her and I zone out into my own thoughts, "Wearing what she usually wears. She's showing off her assets and that she's not a threat but looks can always be deceiving."
"What's the occasion?" She asks after the bartender steps away to make her drink snapping me back to reality, "You don't normally call me unless it's really urgent or we're discussing business."
"The sea weeds out the weak from the strong, right?" I ask and I see her nod, "I think I've taken care of our mutual problem."
"That Reaper guy?" She asks and I nod, "How?"
"I have my methods." I say as the bartender walks back with her drink, "Just know he's not going to be a problem in Bilgewater anymore and that I'm sending a message with it."
I stand up leaving a wad of cash on the counter before she grabs my arm, "No hard feelings, right? Just business."
"None, I'd have done the same." I say and she lets go of my arm, "See you 'round, Fortune."
I walk away before she can say anything else, disappear into the crowd and then walk out the way I came in. Lot of day drinkers but then again this is a beach and some people just like to get wasted.
I find my Corvette and unlock it before opening the door and sitting down, "At least no-"
*I've got a gal she looks just fine
Always bring me whiskey and wine
Breakfast in the morning and dinner at night
Everything she do, she do just right
When I say, "What you wanna do?"
She said, "There's just one thing that I want from you"A little bit rock
A little bit roll
A little bit rock, ooh
A little bit roll
A little bit rock, a little bit roll
A little bitty little bit of rock n roll-*"What'd you do now?" I ask and she nervously laughs.
"I'm in a bit of a situation, I'll text you where." She says before hanging up and then texting me where exactly.
"You've got to be kidding me, Akali." I think to myself when I see she's in Zaun, "Well I ain't got a choice since it's literally my job to protect her."
I sigh before starting the car, backing up and then speeding out of the parking lot. I max the volume of the song as I hit the highway.
*If I leave here tomorrow
Would you still remember me?
For I must be traveling on now
'Cause there's too many places I've got to seeBut if I stay here with you, girl
Things just couldn't be the same
'Cause I'm as free as a bird now
And this bird you cannot change
Oh, oh, oh, oh
And the bird you cannot change
And this bird, you cannot change
Lord knows, I can't change-*Hey, reader, sorry to interrupt but we all know where this is going so let's drop a gear and disappear. We'll pick up the song after the-
