"Joseph, you can take the rest of the day off." I say laying a mug in the sink.
"Ok?" He says confused, "See you tomorrow?"
"Yeah." I say watching him grab his jacket off the rack and then leave.
There's an eerie silence in the bar now that I try to ignore by just doing random tasks behind the bar before I hear the door creaking open.
"What can I get ya?" I ask before seeing a hooded man sitting at the bar, "You look like a vodka kind of guy but can I suggest the house special?"
"I come for information," He says and I stop reaching for the vodka, "very sensitive information."
"What about?" I cautiously ask straightening myself up.
"A certain person." The man says before reaching into his robe, pulling out a picture and placing it on the bar.
"Don't know too much about him," I say after recognizing the person is Y/N, "all I can say is he used to be a regular before he started working here for a short time so what happened to him after that is anyone's guess."
"Shame, he was seen in this area not too long ago by a friend of mine before an explosion happened another block or two away." He says before standing up, "Alas, you don't have any use to us like I thought."
"Wha-"
Y/N's POV four hours later
I jump awake and look around the room before noticing a pair of golden irises in the corner, "Can I help you?"
She says nothing before just disappearing and then I roll my eyes. After standing up and stretching, I glimpse at my phone seeing a missed call from Ekko that causes me to pause for a second and try to figure out why he called me since he didn't leave a voicemail.
"Y/N." Someone says and I drop my phone in response, "My bad, dude."
"It's fine, don't worry about it." I say followed with a silent sigh before turning around, "You need me, Akali?"
"Eve wanted me to tell you we've got a friend coming over so look presentable." She says and I put on a fake smile with a thumbs up.
She walks away and I let out an annoyed sigh while letting the "smile" fade, "Couldn't have done it herself, what a-"
A ding from my phone interrupts me and I grab it before seeing the notification, "That can't be good."
Third POV Zaun
"Going behind your boss's back, hm?" The masked man asks the man standing in front of him.
"I'm just doing what was wanted as someone's final wish." The man says while the masked man puts a hand under the chin of the mask, "The offer is very gen-"
"I'm not in it for the money." The man coldly states before setting a personalized and specialized revolver on his desk, "Show me a picture of this person."
Without a word the man pulls out his phone before opening his photos and then showing the masked man, "I'll do it, he's going to be my final masterpiece."
"I'll be in touch with his last known location." The man says before walking away, "I hate dealing with freaks like him."
Piltover two hours prior to the call
"What happened to her?!" Vi yells before being dragged away, "Tell me, damn it!"
"Sorry about that, Ekko." Caitlyn says before placing down a cup of water in front of him, "I know you understand why she's... upset."
"Yeah." Ekko says before picking up the cup and taking a sip, "I don't know entirely what happened except the aftermath."
"As you stated to the responding officers." Caitlyn says sitting down across from him, "It wasn't-"
"Why would you think he'd go after a former employer and someone he has no bad history with?" Ekko asks interrupting her, "I'm sure there's security cameras in there that saw everything, Caitlyn."
"We can't rule out that as a possibility but about the cameras, I can't say what's being done about that since it's confidential to the case." Caitlyn says before pulling out a cigarette and lighting it.
"If that's all you need me for then can I leave?" Ekko asks and she nods, "See you around, Caitlyn."
After he leaves Caitlyn sighs before talking into her radio, "Someone track him for me, I've got a feeling he's going to lead us to our target."
Hey y'all, don't worry I'm still alive. I've been working on and off on chapters again so here's the chapter as promised, hope it's lived up to the wait.
