🕸 19. Adopted 🕸

Tony woke up and checked his phone, he had some texts from Peter, not on the group-chat phone but on his real phonenumber. He quickly read through the texts and felt his heart drop. May had passed away, poor kid. He knew the kid would go into the system unless he adopted the kid, and he knew he wanted to. He woke up Pepper and asked FRIDAY to wake up Nat and call her into his bedroom.

Nat came in and Tony took a deep breath.
"Peters aunt just passed away"
"Oh no, poor boy!" Nat said and looked worried. "Should I go in and comfort him?" Pepper offered, but Tony shook his head. "He ran away this night because he needed some peace, he's at his friends place"
"Oh okay, what should we do?"
"Get the adoption papers" Tony said and looked at the two women. "I get 50% and you both get 25%, how does that sound?" Tony suggested and the two women agreed. "We still need his permission Tones, we can't just adopt him without him knowing" Pepper told her husband and he nodded.
"We can get the papers and sign them, when we see him again we can ask him" he said, and then they left to go to the courtroom to get adoption papers for Peter.

They talked and Tony showed the text messages between him and his aunt, and also the group-chat, the jury agreed that it would be good for Peter to be adopted by someone he knew, and as he had been staying with the Avengers for some time he knew them quite well. They all signed the papers, agreeing to Tony getting 50% custody, and Nat and Pepper getting 25% custody each. They all went home and hid the papers in a bag, in order to show them to Peter when he decided to come there.

Tony put away his phone again and went into the kitchen to eat some breakfast.
"Tony, I can't find Peter, I tried to wake him up, but he wasn't in his room! I'm worried" Steve said.
"He's at his friends place, he ran away this night"
"Oh, why? And how do you know?"
"He texted me, and his aunt passed away last night, and he needed some space"
"Oh poor kid! What will happen to him? She was his last living relative right?"
"Yeah, me, Nat and Pepper are adopting him, only if he wants to of course"
"Oh that's amazing, he would stay at this tower then?"
"Yeah, he already has his room"

Peter woke up the next day and found a note.
Hey Pete, Ned here!
I told my parents you came last night and that your aunt had passed.
Just stay with me for as long as you'd like, you could also go for a walk if you'd like.
I hope you'll be okay

Peter got up, changed and went into the kitchen where Mrs Leeds was.
"Morning Peter, I'm so sorry about your aunt, do you want something to eat?"
Peter shook his head and went to school, he didn't have any supplies but he really didn't know where else to go. He arrived at class and went in and sat down beside Ned, who looked at his friend worried.

"Mr. Parker! Why are you late and where are your supplies!?"
"My aunt passed away last night and I didn't know where to go, so I ended up going to school" the whole class gasped, it was no secret that his aunt was his last living relative. The class sent him pity looks, and then the teacher continued with teaching the class. Peter just sat and stared into nothing the whole day.

At recess he just stood at his locker with Ned, who were silent. Flash walked up to the boy and put a hand at his should. Peter flinched and looked as if he was going to punch Flash. "Parker! I'm sorry about your aunt okay, that's all I wanted, to say sorry" the bully said and Peter lowered his fist. Flash walked away and Peter just stared into the air, feeling empty inside.

"Peter dude, go home to your own house and get whatever you want from it, go to my house with it and you can stay there for as long as you'd like, you shouldn't be here, take some time to yourself" Ned said and Peter nodded and did as he said. After the class earlier people had spread the word around the whole school, so everybody knew.
