Scott's Perspective-

Scott hummed as he helped his mother bake the bread.

"How was your dance, Fiona?" Scott's father asked, walking in and throwing on his apron to help out.

"Oh, er- good."

"Did you have fun?"

Scott shrugged.

"I guess." He said.

Someone then walked into their bakery and Scott's father left to take the customer's order.

Scott sighed.

"Well?" His mother asked, "How did it go?"

Scott shrugged.

His mother smiled softly, "Scott, dear, you know you can tell me anything."

Scott smiled back.

That was just one of the many things he loved about his mother.

She was always so supportive and understanding, and she tires her hardest to use he/him pronouns for Scott and use his preferred name.

"I guess it was kinda fun. He was very kind." Scott said, helping his mother take out the bread from the oven and replacing it with new loafs.

His mother nodded.

"Do you like him?"

Scott flushed pink.

"N-no! It's nothing like that."

His mother raised an eyebrow, a smirk on her face.

"Sure." She said, shrugging.

Scott grumbled.

He knew his mother knew the truth.

Despite him never telling her that he was gay, she knew.

-

Scott sighed and rested his head on his hand as he tapped his fingers boringly on the counter.

It was a terribly slow day, and Scott was bored out of his mind.

He moved his fingers around in the way of his dance with the prince earlier.

"I've never really related to someone like that before."

Scott smiled softly when remembering the prince's words.

Me neither. I've never related to someone so closely as you.

After a couple more minutes, Scott sighed as he stretched.

Guess I could go get a bite to eat. I'm so hungry. And besides, no one's-

Scott's thoughts stopped as he heard someone say,

"Er- Fiona?"

Scott turned around and blushed when seeing the prince.

"Oh! James, hi!" Scott smiled.

Prince James's smile flickered.

"What?" Scott asked.

"I just...I like to be called Jimmy instead of James."

"That's alright!"

Jimmy smiled softly as he leaned on the counter.

"So, do you wanna order something or..." Scott trailed off.

"Oh, sorry! I just came here to talk with you. We didn't have enough time to up at the palace, and you seem really nice."

Scott smiled, "Well, what do you wanna talk about?"

"Just..." Jimmy sighed and looked away, "I don't know, really."

He chuckled bitterly.

"I've never really had friends before." He said.

Scott looked concerned and he patted Jimmy's back.

"Well, I can be your friend."

Jimmy smiled.

"Scott, dear, you can go on break early if you- "

Scott's mother trailed off when seeing Scott and Jimmy.

"Oh! Sorry, Prince James, I didn't know you were here." Scott's mother said, bowing.

"I- I thought your name was Fiona." Jimmy said, ignoring Scott's mother, "Why is she calling you Scott?"
