Chapter 33

The mansion looked anything but the one from the movie Taehyung had mentioned and the gloomy air looming around did no good either.

"I thought you said it was like the mansion from The Notebook?" Jimin whispered pointing to the dilapidated ghost house in front of him.

"Yeah, it is. The one before Noah had renovated."

"Oh you mean the one where they did the nasty?"

"Will you both shut up?" It was Luna who had ended the conversation. She would have enjoyed the conversation and maybe even piped in a lit bit of trivia but now with the suicide mission right in front of her, she couldn't find humour in anything.

"This is it guys. Go." 

"Let's get this over with." Luna said pulling Taehyung along with her towards the entrance of the house.

"Helloo? Namjoon? You here?" Taehyung called out into the entryway.

"Why would he call us here?" He asked confusing Luna who looked confused first but was quick to put on her best acting skills to use.

"Beats me. Maybe he wanted to get away from you or something. You can be real annoying at times."

"I thought we had a truce."

"I made no promises young man."

"Well, look who have here..." The sweet voice of Kang Insoo rang out in the corridor where the bantering couple stood.

"Bianca? What are you doing here?"

"If I didn't know about your little gang, I would have thought that you were genuinely surprised to see me. I must admit that you have got some really good acting skills."

"Where is Namjoon? And what are you doing here?" Taehyung asked adamantly slightly raising his voice.

"Oh my, still in character, you are a good actor, well you were. You both had promising futures infact but you just had to get involved in my matters. It is nothing personal. I just gotta protect the one I love. You see."

"Is this what you call love Insoo?" Yoongi asked.

"Haven't heard that name in a long while." Insoo said with a sad chuckle. "I didn't expect to see you here though. You were always busy to have time for anyone. What changed now Yoon?" She asked walking towards him. With Insoo's attention drawn towards the man in the foyer, Taehyung and Luna took the opportunity to sneak into the mansion to locate the others.

"I always had time for you, you were the one who had gone paranoid about my fans and staff. Please just end this here."

"End what Yoongi? Loving you? Protecting you? Do you have any idea how many times I have saved you from possible threats? If anything, you should be thanking me Yoongi."

"You killed innocent people Insoo. They were not threats. You perceived them as threats."

"They were obsessed with you Yoongi. And you know what obsessed fans do? They try to snatch you away and keep you to themselves. And I can't have that happening. Just like those two crazy fans of yours who sneaked inside to save their manager and the rest of the gang. They think they can trick me. You think you can trick me with your little plan." Insoo said laughing out as she looked at Yoongi who looked back with a raised eyebrow.

"Now here's what's gonna happen. You are going to walk with me to the car and leave this place."

"Please don't do this Insoo."

"I'm doing this for your good Yoongi. Look at what they dragged you into. You are part of the investigation now. See? That's bad press for your career. We have got bigger things to do and don't forget all the plans for Australia."

"Come on Yoongi, I'm alone and I'm with you. What could I even do? You have clearly outnumbered me. Wanna hold hands? Just like old times?" Insoo asked trying to coerce Yoongi to walk away from the mansion. Yoongi decided it was best to not set her off and held her hand while she led him to the car that was parked away.

"Remember the time we made a gingerbread house and it collapsed because you were too stingy with the icing?" Insoo asked and Yoongi nodded. "Was that in Japan or in Malaysia? I really can't seem to remember these days." She said with a chuckle.

"What are you upto Insoo?"

"You are interested in architecture right? So, do you know how we bring down big old buildings?"

"Tae, where did they say they were?"

"In the office in the master suite, on the first floor."

"Come on, it's that way." Luna led the way. The duo snuck into the mansion and was quick to dial the search team who said that they were in the master suit and Namjoon was locked inside the en suite office. But the mansion solely lit by moonlight seeping in through the windows was proving to be difficult for them to navigate through the house. The phone's flashlight didn't help much in the huge space.

"Did they find a way to break into the office?"

"Jimin's trying."

"Did you hear that?" Luna asked suddenly stopping in her tracks.

"What?" Taehyung asked trying to look around as Luna seemed to be in search of something. "I'm sure I heard a 'beep' or something."

"It must be some rat or something. God knows what roams around in this mansion."

"The master suite is on the right corridor from the stairs. You head there. I will join you in a while."

"Are you crazy? I'm not leaving you here alone!" 

"Tae, please listen to me. Go help them break the lock and get Namjoon out. I will be right behind you."

"Scream if something happens, okay?"

"Yeah, yeah. Go get the boys out." 

Taehyung looked at the girl but one stare from her was enough to make him hesitantly move towards the stairs. He walked towards the master suite with the help of his phone's flashlight.

"You said you were a master at picking locks?" Hoseok asked a frustrated Jimin who appeared to be trying to break the rusted lock.

"Can't you just kick down the door? It's pretty old and will fall off easily." Taehyung interrupted the guys.

"Ah, right. Why didn't we think about this earlier? Give me the count, I am gonna kick it down."

Jimin and Hoseok stepped back before Jimin could run and knock down the door. 

"One, Two, Threeeeee!"

"AAAH!" Jimin kicked the door down and found Namjoon tied down onto a chair with his mouth tapped.

"Hey Namjoon. We are here to save you." Jimin said while untying him and Hoseok ripped off the tape from his mouth only for Namjoon to scream in panic.

"WE NEED TO GET OUTTA HERE!" Namjoon screamed while pulling the guys towards the exit.

"TAAEEEE!" Luna's screamed as she ran into the corridor where they were. "There's explosives around the house. We need to get out like NOW!"
