"YOU'RE GOING TO be fine. You said it yourself, niñita. He might end up sentencing himself, just breathe for me," Roselia said softly, squeezing Elena's shoulder. Elena swallowed and nodded, taking in a deep breath.

Frank Castle was speaking at the stand today. And that could go either way. Maybe he would end up being charismatic and charming, convincing the jury that he was in fact innocent in all this. That his many murders were crimes of passion rather than premeditated. Or, he'd stumble over his words. He'd appear to be guilty, and they'd win. Elena really hoped for the latter, she just wanted this trial to be over with. She looked at Roselia with a small smile, she was so grateful that she was here. She hadn't realised how much she'd needed someone around until she'd arrived. She was even more grateful that Roselia had agreed to come along to watch the trial in the gallery, to be there to support her niece.

The blonde looked down at her watch, there was still a decent amount of time until she had to go in, which calmed her slightly. She could take a few extra minutes doing some breathing exercises and just being around her aunt. She swallowed, trying to focus on anything other than the trial at hand. Her dark eyes darted around the room, and she noticed that Karen and Foggy were standing together. No sign of Matthew. Again. Something was clearly up with him, but Elena didn't really care enough to find out what. She had too much going on herself.

"You okay?" Roselia asked softly, looking at Elena with a concerned frown. Elena nodded.

"Yeah. I'm okay. Just... Everything," she said, a breath of a laugh escaping her lips. Roselia smiled in response, then let go of Elena's shoulder, looking around the waiting room. It was gradually filling with people, many of them carrying signs or donning t-shirts that expressed their opinions on the Castle case, and whether he should be free or not. Elena didn't bother to read them, she was pretty sure that she'd just throw up in her mouth.

Elena sighed, then frowned as her phone started to ring. She pulled it out of her bag and pursed her lips when she saw the caller ID. It was her mother. She better have a good reason for calling her. Maybe it would be something about Inés, something positive to help her through this trial. Roselia had confirmed to Elena that Regina did, in fact, know about the trial. So when she'd alerted Elena of the bad news, she really hadn't cared or bothered to think about how badly it could affect her during the biggest trial of her career.
