"All the best for your speech, I know you make all kinds of speeches but it's the first one that I am here for so all the best" I say smiling at him

he grins, like a kid in a candy store, or me in a candy store. He was grinning so wide that it reached his ears

I tip toe and kiss his cheeks right before he gets called on stage for the speech. I stood there watching him talk in the microphone. The way his lips curve up in a smile every time he eyes me and how his eyes shine when he mentions his, our company

He is such a hard worker and though I hated him for forcing me to marry him, the honesty is he didn't force me, I did it on my own terms to help my family. Now that I think about it, I believe it's the best decision of my life.

"Thank you everyone and enjoy yourself. And if you are my wife, please please focus on me and not on the books, the rest of the party, have fun reading all the fun books around and provide feedback" he says on the microphone making me turn red as the crowd chuckle a bit

as he walks off the stage he winked at me making me smile shaking my head at his antics. He was busy talking to some co workers, and other people while I was running, well not literally but I was bouncing from tables to tables grabbing as many books I could, mostly spicy romantic ones but some cute ones too

"Isn't that enough for tonight Al" I hear Alex, I turn to him flashing him a toothy smile causing him to smile back

"Let me help" he says so I placed a few in his arms

"I think this is enough for today" I say

"Very well, should we head home?" He asks

"Yes please"

He bid bye to a couple important people and then the two of us headed home. Alex is such a sweetheart he helped me set my books up in my bookshelf and then we both showered and got ready for bed.

I was sitting on the bed massaging my feet because they hurt so bad from the heels today and watching tv while Alex was on a business call in his office that was on the second floor.

"You didn't sleep yet?" I hear his voice

"No, I was waiting for you" I reply looking at him

he sits beside me watching tv with me. He pulled on my legs so my legs laid over his.

"Sir what are you doing?" I ask

"They hurt?" He asks

"No not anymore" I lie because it literally felt like I was stepping on pins and needles

"Liar, Allison you bite your lips every time you lie, don't try it with me. Keep it for someone who doesn't know you" he says massaging my feet

"Xan, you don't have to"

"Shh, focus on the show, she gets killed next"

"ALEXXX" I yell at him for spoiling it

"Watch"he says

Even though I wanted to watch the show, I couldn't help but admire my husband as he massaged my feet, he was tired but he still sees my pain

I pull my feet back from his lap and climbed up on his lap making myself comfortable in his arms, his lap.

"Yes" he asks wrapping his arms around my back

"Thank you for being the best husband in this whole entire universe. You hide this sweet side behind this mask of anger but Xan I love this side of you" I whisper rubbing the back of his neck

"Thank you angel" my cheeks heat up hearing him

As I look in his eyes, I see my whole life in them. His hazel eyes had speckles that I hadn't noticed before, he had really long eyelashes, longer than mine and I wondered if he would let me put mascara on them to see how long they would look.
