Maya never thought she'd me one of those mothers to fixate on where her kid would go to school (granted she never believed she would be a mother in the first place) , but there she was now aged 36 weighing the pros and cons of a public v private school education for Evelyn

It was a quick debate that lasted only about three minutes as she and her wife cuddled on the sofa whilst the teen in question had hauled herself in her bedroom; they quickly concluded that public school would be the best option for their teenager as it was the option that would help her feel the most 'normal' assuming the past 12 years as a foster kid had taken that away from the young girl. That and Evelyns reluctance to allow them to spend even a penny on her would probably cause the younger blonde to go into heart failure once learning of the near $17,000 yearly fee of Seattle Prep

Then came the decision of what public school, there were roughly three good schools in the areas close to their home, the station and Grey- sloan where Carina worked. Elk wood High school's website looked surprisingly good considering it had just opened all of three weeks ago but then after learning of all but the three Reddit views the school had was enough to shut it as an option down. Then Mayas own high school easily began as a strong contender she herself was aware of the great academic program the school had, as well as the faculty and teenage Maya was especially fond of the sports department (not that she intended Ev to follow in her footsteps, no, she'd very much prefer the opposite). But then she was quickly reminded of the awful fact she'd heard through word of mouth that her 'dad' had recently taken up the role of head of the Physical Education Department at Lincoln High, as well as the Track and Football Coach, thus that was quickly marked off the list in dark red sharpie pen. Words wouldn't be able to explain the hatred Maya now felt towards her estranged dad, and the fear of him finding out about Ev and Faith — she'd do everything in her power to ensure that would never happen
