About an hour later Carina and Maya were snuggled up on the couch discussing what tomorrow would hold when they noticed a small mop of blonde hair peek around the corner along with her mother, Carina smiled "come join us bambine" the woman said patting the space next to her and Maya
"a-are you sure? I don't want to intrude—" the teen said holding a nervous grip onto the two year olds hand who was practically dying to run over to the couch, "c'mon kid, you could never intrude. This is your home now too" Maya affirmed, repeating her statement from earlier
Confusion spread across the girls face, usually her foster parents told her to stay out of their way which before having Faith was fairly easy;— she'd spend most of her time in the room when she wasn't at school only really leaving to do chores or go to the bathroom. And when she was at school she stayed her absolute latest whether that was playing in a nearby park (even when raining) or staying in the public library until closing time before going back to her foster placement. But when she had Faith staying out of her foster parents way became increasingly difficult and cries of a newborn at 2am added to her collection of bruises and scars.
But Maya and Carina didn't seem like most of her past placements, they seemed nice, didn't confine her to the four walls of the bedroom and fed her!! Maybe they could be different, even if it was for a little while
