a faint whimper escaped from soleia's lips as she muttered in her sleep, her face contorted with distress and fear. her eyes moved beneath her lids, her eyebrows furrowed in concentration as her mind processed her nightmare. her breathing was heavy and difficult, her chest rapidly moving up and down as she tossed and turned in her sleep. soleia body was drenched in sweat, the sheets sticking to her soft honey caramel skin. she mumbled in her sleep, words barely audible, as if she was trying to tell someone something.

suddenly, soleia's eyes shot open and she jerked up in bed, her breathing coming in short, sharp gasps as she grabbed ahold of her throat. she felt as if someone was gripping her neck, choking her and suffocating her.

her honey-brown eyes scanned the room warily as if she expected someone to be watching her. as she pulled the sheets off her body, feeling the cool air against her skin, soleia couldn't help but feel exposed to the chill of the room.

as she stepped out of bed, her bare feet brushing against the chilly floor. she felt a chill run through her body as the cool air brushed against her skin. goosebumps rose on her skin as she made contact with the cold floor. she shivered as she walked across the room, the cold air making her skin crawl. she hugged her arms around herself, trying to generate some warmth.

as made her way out of the bedroom and towards the kitchen, soleia walked down the hallway of the house. she passed by her cousin's bedroom, the house quiet except for the soft sound of her footsteps against the wooden floor. as soleia entered the kitchen, she made her way towards the top cabinet and opened it, grabbing a glass cup. she then walked towards the kitchen sink, turning the water on. as she brought the glass cup towards the sink, she watched as the water filled the glass.

soleia pulled herself onto the kitchen counter and grabbed the glass of water, she took small sips, and as she stared blankly at the wall in front of her, her mind was in turmoil, struggling to come to terms with the reality of her life. She couldn't believe that this was who she had become, a victim of abuse and violence. she longed to go back to the person she used to be, free and confident, but she knew that person was gone forever. she was stuck with this new version of herself, a person she didn't recognize or want to be.

within a blink of an eye, soleia was softly sobbing in the kitchen, her body shaking as she cried. the weight of her emotions seemed to consume her, and she couldn't hold back the tears any longer. soleia didn't know why she continued to put herself in this kind of position where she constantly suffered physically, emotionally, and mentally in a toxic relationship that she believed was love. she couldn't understand why she stayed with someone who treated her poorly and made her feel small.

she continued sobbing, unable to hold back the wave of emotions that had built up since the toxicity began to seep into their relationship. the weight of suppressed feelings and unspoken words became too heavy to bear, and she finally let it all out, releasing the pain and heartache that had been consuming her, it was a cathartic release.

as soleia cried, diamontè wrapped her arms around soleia, the sound of her sniffing could be heard as she watched soleia break in her arms. she held onto her cousin tightly as soleia broke down, tears streaming down diamontè's face. she had never seen her cousin look so defeated and broken. as she comforted soleia, diamontè couldn't help but feel a sense of helplessness and worry. she knew she had to be strong for her cousin, but the weight of the situation was heavy on her heart. despite the tears and pain, diamontè promised to be there for soleia, no matter what.

the embrace of her cousin felt warm and comforting, causing soleia to release all her pent-up emotions. she couldn't remember the last time someone had held her like this, and it only made her cry even harder. it was a mix of sadness and relief, knowing that someone cared enough to hold her and let her cry. it was a moment of vulnerability and trust she had not experienced in a long time.

diamontè continued to whisper in soleia's ear, "everything is going to be alright, i'm here jae." she reassured her cousin, knowing that she needed comfort in this difficult moment. diamontè knew that she was there for soleia, no matter what, and she wanted to make sure that her cousin felt safe and supported.

diamontè held her cousin tightly, gently rocking back and forth as soleia's crying gradually subsided. the only sounds filling the room were the soft sniffles and occasional hiccups from her tear-stained face. as her sobs quieted, soleia's body relaxed in diamontè's embrace, finding comfort and solace in the physical presence of her cousin.

"i'm sorry i woke you up." soleia's soft and raspy voice apologized as she leaned against her cousin's shoulder, both of them sitting on the kitchen's wooden floor.

"you're fine, jae," diamontè said softly, shaking her head as reassured her cousin.

"i know, but still feel bad for keeping you up," soleia replied with a sheepish smile. "don't worry about it, jae." diamontè reassured her with a gentle pat on the back.

as they both sat there, soleia and diamontè enjoyed the peaceful silence around them. diamontè continued to rub her cousin's back, soothing her to sleep. soleia's head rested on diamontè's shoulder, her eyes fluttering as she tried to fight off her sleepiness. however, as the minutes passed, soleia couldn't help but drift off into a peaceful slumber, feeling the warmth and comfort of her cousin's embrace. diamontè smiled softly, knowing that her cousin was finally able to relax and let go of the stress and worries of the day.

diamontè carefully moved her cousin's head from her shoulder and positioned it onto her lap. she gently stroked her cousin's hair, trying to soothe her as she slept.

she watched her sleep closely, studying the way her cousin looked. soleia didn't look like her normal self - she had lost weight from her face and her body, and dark circles had formed around her eyes. soleia's physical appearance was a reflection of the emotional toll of whatever she was going through, and it was clear that something was not right.

diamontè's heart clenched in fear and concern as she noticed the dark marks and bruises on her cousin soleia's face. her gaze traveled down to her cousin's neck, where a large, hand-shaped mark stood out against her skin. her mind raced with worry.
