"You know that thing you keep saying about how I'm out of your league and I'd never look twice at you if we didn't know each other like this?" Jamie asked as they got closer to her room. She nodded, not sure where he was going with this. "Well, I know that I'm famous and you're uh...what would you call your profession?"

"Secret military assassin and field medic I guess." It wasn't that she didn't know what she did or couldn't describe her job but people around there just knew she was a lieutenant and in the real world when she was doing anything else she always had a cover story. No one from out there ever knew what she actually did until him. Also Joseph and Eddie at that point since they were all dragged into it as well.

"Yes, that, thank you. Anyway, I'm not different from a regular person is what I'm getting at."

"I know you're only human like everyone else but there are still leagues of people and a class system and let's not pretend that on average guys who look like you don't date girls who look like me. Or even want to fuck them. I assume all that happened when it did was out of desperation but my mother sounds like she'd have been a better choice after what she was saying about how she met my father." She rolled her eyes and entered her room. Joseph was on the bed, still channel surfing, except this time he had a few empty mini bottles of booze next to him. Also a plate that looked like it once had food on it.

"That food was not that bad." Joseph said, his voice slurring a bit.

"I don't think food is bad when you're shit faced." Jamie chuckled.

"I ate it way before I got shit faced just so you know and the bread was fresh." He said reaching for another bottle on the nightstand. He was drinking all of her tequila which was fine since that was her least favorite of what she had stocked in her room anyway. She glanced back at the plate then laughed.

"They gave him something from the officer's dining hall. I can tell by the plate."

"Seriously?" Jamie asked, "Why did they give me that awful lunch, speaking of which, isn't it about time I had something to eat?"

"Honestly, I think we'd both do better with food in our stomachs." She said. Things had been so hectic she'd completely forgotten that was something she was supposed to do. He probably had as well but it made more sense for him because he was missing chunks of time in his memory. Either because he was becoming Vecna or he was being used by Vecna. "I'll take you to the officer's dining hall myself."

"You just have to go to the intercom and complain a lot and someone will bring you food." Joseph said and then started to down what looked like his forth mini bottle of booze. She walked over to him and grabbed it out of his hand.

"You've had more than enough."

"I will tell you when I've had enough and this...this is not nearly enough." He muttered back then tried to very badly grab the bottle back before giving up and falling back onto the bed. He groaned, closed his eyes and a few seconds later he was snoring. Jamie laughed and looked at her.

"He's kind of cute like that, don't you think?"

"In what way?" She asked then capped the bottle and tossed it into the trash. "Do you want food or not? There's always someone on staff to cook for the officers so it won't matter what time we show up."

"Good to know." He said, "Maybe it can be like a date."

"What are you so intent on proving to me about this? You don't have to show me that you like...normal girls to prove a point or whatever." She said and opened the door.

"I'm not trying to prove a-" He stopped talking when he ran into her almost causing her to fall but she stumbled and recovered after catching her balance. "What? You didn't go into a trance right? Look at me."
