So... I'm posting this now but it will be updated because I have no idea of what to put as Extra Scene- yes, I'm an idiot

Well-

Bye-

Grian's POV
We got home and got to work. I don't think you care about everything we've done, but just know that we've come a long way. Mumbo had returned home, even though he had been repeatedly invited to stay for dinner. Speaking of dinner, it was the time of the debut. We hadn't spent much time together at lunch, but now the whole family would be sitting around the table to eat… talking about eating, what was there to eat?

“Mom, what are we eating today?” I asked curious

"I don't know, but let's wait a little longer to have dinner, okay?" She said pointing to the dining table

Sitting at the table were my sister and father playing cards, I believe UNO, and this put a smile on my face. Dad wasn't a bad person and I'm sure he was trying his best to build a good relationship with Ashley. The first time they met, the little avarian was four years old and terribly scared, and moving in with a stranger your older brother calls "dad" doesn't sound so good.

"Don't be afraid, he doesn't want to hurt you"

I think those were the first words I said to her when she hid behind me.

“How about playing together?”

"NO! I want to stay with Grian”

Over time she had begun to get along with Dad, but she treated him more like a friend of the family than a member of it. Up until this morning they hardly spoke but now they were playing cards together.

“I told you Dad is really good with kids,” my mother said putting her hand on my shoulder

"I'm happy about it"

Scar's POV
That night I slept peacefully even though I knew that tomorrow I would have met more neighbours… UUGH! You don't know how much I HATE meeting neighbours! Usually they are all adults/elderly who come here for the sheer courtesy of seeming polite and kind, husbands are usually dragged by their wives even though they are happy to meet my father. While I remain silent to watch them, sometimes they ask me questions out of nowhere like "How is school?". At least it's better than those who asked me about the "gIrLfRiRnD” and my private life- I mean- CAN'T YOU MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS? The Smith had just come to visit us and obviously my parents started those polite chats; dad was tired, mom was bored; Mrs. Smith seemed sweet as honey, she wasn't a bad person, but she seemed slow to understand things and because of this she didn't understand all those times my parents kindly asked her to leave since they had 3 hours of sleep each and that they wanted some peace. Mr. Smith, on the other hand, gave goosebumps. He seemed to have done the military and was one of those men obsessed with rules and with his homeland... I don't think you're interested in the complete analysis, even if it wasn't hard to do. After what seemed like hours of endless conversations they knew it was time to leave. Just outside the door Mrs. Smith made an announcement that I wish she hadn't…

“Since it’s rare to have two new families in the neighbourhood we decided to invite you to our house barbeque! You have no idea how good Gerald is at cooking” She said smiling

'I know how good he is, I understood it in the first 30 minutes of your false and useless conversations' I thought, but as usual no words came out of my mouth.

"Really? We will be very happy to come!” My mother said with that fake smile she always wore

“Then we’ll wait for you there!”

And with that sentence began the greetings that will not be written because the author hasn’t invented the names of the parents yet- *coff**coff* I meeaann… Anyway,  the dinner would have been in two weeks. Fantastic! Now I was also morally obligated to go on an evening full of strangers who will ask me weird questions and then completely forget about my existence to talk with my parents. Most of them are nice people, but I'll make sure I have my phone charged in case I need to use it.
The Smiths left and my father looked at me with a hopeful look that asked what I thought.

“Mr. Smith took a liking to me, I think for the scars. Being an ex-military it is likely that he has some too” I said instinctively placing my hand on the lower part of my left cheek, covering a scar

“Have you analyzed them properly?” Dad asked knowing that I didn't like the topic of 'scars' very much

“Yes, do you want to know what I found out?” I asked looking into his eyes

“No thanks, what do you think about dinner at the Smith house?”

"Boring"

“Grian will be there, it seems to me you got along well with him,” he said

“Yeah… but it's always a social interaction, and the rest of the dinner will be boring” I said with a smile

"I'm sure you'll enjoy it" He replied always smiling

Grian's POV
Do I need to say I had one of the best nights sleep of my life? Everything was going great! Ashley and dad got along well, I was in the city I always wanted to live in and had a summer to enjoy it. Soon I would have turned 16, I would have started the third year of highschool and I knew I didn't have the bad luck that many have of arriving in new cities without friends. A couple of weeks went by, I began to get to know the neighborhood which I found very welcoming. We didn't see each other much with the GoodTime family and it was usually our parents talking about boring things like what kind of plant to put in the garden. Oh! Did I forget to mention dinner at the Smith house? I'm not very excited about it to be honest, it seems like one of those boring things you're forced to participate in. Obviously my mother was happy, my father indifferent and my sister excited; kids are so innocent… we all know that, because she’ll be the only child there, she’ll get bored in half an hour, but for now let's pretend she can actually have fun.
