As soon as Dr. Michaels called and told me Nadia was awake, Alex and I headed to the hospital right away
Something in her voice seemed off but l tried remain calm

She discovered Nadia has anterograde amnesia, it means that your brain can't remember new information since the amnesia. She can recall certain events from her childhood, but your sister can't remember things from the present, sometimes memories can return on their own
When I told her that I was going to call you. Nadia wanted to know why l wasn't calling her mother, it's the brain's way of blocking out certain information Dr. Michaels said

Lena was a having a hard time processing the news about Nadia. We wanna keep Nadia here for a few more days to monitor her before releasing her, it's just to make sure we don't run into any complications.
