(this is from David's POV)

TW: Weapons, Violence, Cult

I sat in the cafe, stirring my strawberry and raspberry milkshake lazily, my head resting on my hand as I stared out the window. The sky was a flush orange, fading from plum to blood red. I took a long sip of the shake. It wasn't bad, but not as good as the one near home. Exer and I were on a road trip, we were meeting up with Ronald and Pamela at the KISS double concert. Ron had been talking about it for weeks.

Only today in the car did Exer tell me who the second artist playing was. "David Bowie." He had said in the car grinning at me as freaked out with excitement. I was him for Halloween after all.
I looked up from that happy thought, and glanced at the bathroom. Exer walked out, smiling. "Ready to go to the hotel Day?" Asked Exer, grinning. As I was about to nod, the employee at the bar said: "I'd be careful at that hotel over there. It's just... I dunno... creepy?"

We looked at him and after thanking the guy and leaving Exer said 'he already paid for our rooms' and it was 'no refund'. We drove over to the hotel, the sky dark, with a little bit of the red orange sun still visible. I turned on the radio and the song, Somebody's Watching Me started playing. I turned the radio off again.

Exer looked at me. "I'm sure it's fine Day..." He trailed off, looking back at the road. Suddenly something jumped out in front of the car, and Exer, eyes wide, swerved the car just in time. Okay. That was weird. We arrived at the hotel. It was quite elegant, tall and clean. There were only a couple cars out front.

After we parked and checked in, I noticed that the inside of the building looked a hell of a lot different. It was dirty, and the light kept flickering.
The guy at the desk kept staring at me eeirely. He went out from behind the desk and touched me in the back as he walked by. I shuddered and stepped away. Exer noticed, and glaring at the guy, wrapped his arm around my waist as we walked.

"Alright here's our room." Exer stated happily, (we had gotten lost three times,) and when we entered, it was gross. Exer put his hands out and the filth started rising and flew out the window. Now the place was looking pristine. I smiled at Exer and took my shirt off, about to walk into the bathroom to shower. It has been a long trip. I opened my mouth to say something to Ex as I looked for a pajama top, and Exer chose to kiss me at that moment and a warm latte taste filled my senses with joy. I pulled back and was about to hug Exer when I heard a knock on the door.

"Room service." I heard the person say, and when I cracked the door, I saw the creep from the counter staring at me. I shut the door. He tried opening it up but I held my ground. I looked at Exer for an excuse, but he just shrugged and I could tell he was trying to think of what to do. "Uhh don't come in, I'm not decent!" I yelled through the door and shut it tight, locking the door. I decided I would pass on a shower.

Exer handed me one of his tank tops and I put it on. Exer spread out on top of the bedsheets and put his hands behind his head. I sat down and hugged his side, curling my long legs up to my chest. I was super nervous. Exer noticed this and whispered "Hey remember I'm Mr. Magic, I won't let that guy come in here. It's only one night, think of David Bowie David!" I smiled, pecked him on the cheek, and dozed off.

When I woke up the room was dark, other than a sharp bolt of moonlight peeping through the curtains. I noticed Exer wasn't there. I stood up and saw he was completely gone, and to my utter fear, the door was ajar.

"Ex..?" I whispered, hoping he was in the bathroom, but he wasn't anywhere in the room. I stood up and nervously peeked out the doorway. I noticed that Exer wasn't anywhere. I left the room and started looking around. I noticed as I knocked on the doors of the other rooms, the doors were already opened and everyone was gone. Either that or Exer and I were the only people here.

I saw a pistol on the desk of someone's room, and picked it up. There was only a few bullets in it, but I'd make do with what I had. As I silently walked down the hallway, I heard footsteps behind me. It was that guy again. I kept the gun in my pocket as I heard the guy say "Come here David." I felt my eyes widen. How did he know my name?

He had a baseball bat in hand and whispered "Tonight the ritual will complete." That was freaky. He started sprinting at me and I fell over backwards. Damn it! Why did I have to be the stupid blonde who always falls over in horror movies?! I saw as the guy lifted the bat and brought it with a swish onto my head. I heard a crack, and it went black.

Ughhh. My head hurts. As I opened my eyes, I saw cloaked figures surrounding a stage. They wore red, and as I looked around, I saw Exer sitting tied up in a chair, like me. "Exer!" I exclaimed, but he was still woozy, he must have been knocked out too.

"Tonight the ritual will be completed, after decades of searching, we have finally found the chosen one!" I looked at Exer, who was wide awake now. "We also have the sacrifice." The guy said pointing at me. Sacrifice?! What the hell was going on?! "I'm no chosen one!" Exer blurted. "Nonsense," continued the guy, "we saw you clean the room by raising your hands." The guy said in a 'obviously' voice. Exer sighed.

"First, the sacrifice!" Boomed the guy, and everyone cheered. The people untied me and lifted me up. I heard Exer struggling and could tell he was trying to help me, but couldn't get his magic to work. As they leaned me over a stone basin and raised an axe, I felt cold metal in my pocket. The gun! I whipped it out and shot the guy with the axe. I then turned and shouted, "I'll shoot you if you come closer!"

I untied Exer and now that he was free, he raised his hands and lifted all of the cultists into the air. He tilted his head quickly and they fell to the ground, unmoving. "What?" I whispered. Exer went to the phone on the wall and called the police. Once they arrived they arrested all of them.

The next day, we went to the concert and it was phenomenal! As I cheered for David Bowie, I couldn't shake this feeling. I looked around the crowd around me, and saw the guy right behind me. "Bye bye Blondie!" The guy whispered, and I saw as he pulled out a knife. Shit.
