People rush past me, pushing their carts full of luggage. I stand in the middle of the train station, staring up at the signs for platforms nine and ten. The letter in my hand says to go to platform nine and three quarters. But where is it? How could a platform like that actually exist?
"You look lost."
I turn to my left, and a girl with long red hair stands next to me. A smile on her face as she leans against her cart. Looking down at my letter one last time, I finally let out a sigh. "I'm supposed to go to platform nine and three quarters."
She grins, "Well, you're in luck because I'm heading there as well."
"You have to run through the wall right there, right in between platforms nine and ten," she adds.
I give her a weird look, but don't question it. Magic was weird in America, so I assume it's weird here as well. I stare at the wall in front of me, and my hands grip the handle of my cart tightly. Letting out a sigh, I close my eyes and run right at the wall.
My body tingles, and I open my eyes to see that I'm at a different train station. I move my cart over to the side and stare at the red train in awe. The girl from before walks over to me with a smile, "You must be the new American student everyone's been talking about."
"How could you tell?" I ask, sarcastically.
She laughs, "My name is Lily Evans."
"I'm (Y/n) (L/n)."
"It's nice to meet you, (Y/n). We should probably board the train now."
A guy greets Lily, and she talks to him excitedly, even though he doesn't say much. Lily turns to me, "You can sit with us if you want to, (Y/n)."
"Thank you, I'll come find you after I look around."
She nods, and the two of them board the train. I let out a sigh and look at the engine in front of me. It truly was magnificent. The people around me whisper as they board the train. Word must travel fast around here. I'll have to remember that.
I step into the train, immediately becoming overwhelmed by the never-ending amount of compartments. I use a simple spell on my luggage to make them float behind me as I look for Lily or even just an empty compartment. I had only made it halfway down when the train suddenly lurched forward.
My body falls forward, but someone grabs me before I can hit the ground. They help me stand up straight, and I look up to see a tall guy with longish dark hair.
"Falling for me, love?"
The boys behind him snicker. I look back at the guy in front of me, "Yeah, right."
He raises an eyebrow in amusement. "You must be the American."
"Really? What gave it away?"
"I'm Sirius Black," he says.
I roll my eyes, "I don't remember asking."
"Sarcastic and feisty? I like her already," says the guy with glasses.
I push through them, trying to get away from them as quickly as possible. Sirius yells at me, "I'll see you around!"
"I hope not," I answer dryly.
Their laughter fades away as I continue walking. Lily has to be around here somewhere. A door slides open in front of me, and I recognize the woman's red hair and smile.
"You found us!" Lily says cheerfully.
I walk into the compartment, and my luggage floats up to the rack above. I sit next to Lily, and she points to the guy in front of us. "This is Severus."
He nods at me, and I nod in return. "It's nice to meet you, Severus. I'm (Y/n)."
"He's not talkative around strangers," she whispers.
I nod. It's understandable, but the guy gives me weird vibes. There's something about the way he glares my way every time Lily speaks to me. That gives me bad vibes. But, maybe I'm just overthinking it, like I always do.

I follow Lily and Severus out of the train. My eyes land on the large castle in front of us, I've never seen something so beautiful before. We don't have castles back in America. I gain my composure and turn my attention back to Lily, who is glaring at someone.
"Evans! Did you miss me?"
She glares at the blue eyed man in front of her, "Fuck off, Potter."
It's the guy from the train, and when I look behind him I see the other guys as well. Sirius notices me looking and winks at me, I roll my eyes in response.
"I see you've met the American," he says.
Severus steps in front of Lily, "Go away, Potter."
"Watch your tone, Snivellus."
Lily grabs Severus's hand, "Come on, he's not worth it."
They walk over to the carriages, leaving me alone with the four boys. Sirius walks over to me with a smirk, "Made friends with Lily and Snivellus? Yet, you won't even tell us your name."
"His name is Severus, dickhead."
I walk away from them, my eyes scanning the crowd for Lily. I finally see her and begin walking over to her, but I bump into someone along the way.
"Watch where you're going," the man spats.
I barely have enough time to see his face before he walks away. Green eyes and a sharp jawline. Lily grabs my hand, "Let's go before the Marauders harass us again."
"The Marauders?" I ask.
We climb into a carriage with Severus. Lily lets out a sigh and answers me, "Those despicable men you had the misfortune of meeting. They call themselves the Marauders."
"They have a name for their friend group? That's a bit narcissistic."
Severus snorts, "They're the most narcissistic people you'll ever meet."
"Remus isn't bad, Peter is quiet. But, Sirius and James are the worst."
I nod at Lily's words, "I'll try to stay away from them."
"Good luck. They've already taken an interest in you. Once you're on their radar, you can't get off," says Lily.
